Joy. That whimsy like joy that comes so natural to children.
If you have lost this joy in your life, I hope you find it again.
I know it’s been a while since I’ve posted. I am still on a break from taking clients but wanted to share a photo from last Mother’s Day.
I miss picking up my camera and documenting your lives.

This one, no different from any other day.
But worth remembering, just the same.

Because life doesn’t pause for meaning.
It moves, fast and full.
And the things we do without thinking,
the small gestures, the soft glances, the quiet reaching-
are often the things that carry us.

This is how love lives.
Not always loud. But always there.

It’s sneaking up on me this year!
I don’t even have my tree up yet! I usually have it up before the end of November but this year has been so busy with school!

Hey!
I’ve been quiet but I’m still here, taking photographs of people’s lives.
I received some film scans from the last few months and I’m so exited to share.
Sometimes it feels like maybe photography isn’t meant to be my thing but then I get a roll of film back and I see how my work is moving towards the kind of photos I want to make and it keeps me holding on a little longer.
Finding a balance between what people are willing to pay for and the photos I want to make is hard sometimes.
I appreciate anyone who has allowed me to document their life while I navigate this new space. Your trust in me is everything! I wouldn’t be able to make photos without you.
This session of a family at home in the late fall has me feeling life again in my work.
So many images I want to share but this one I kept coming back to. It’s honest and imperfect and beautiful. It’s everything I am working to become as a photographer.

It didn’t really hit me until my son was grown and away at university.
I love Christmas, it’s my favourite holiday.
When putting up the tree I would put on Christmas music and have my kids put up the decorations. As my son grew taller than me, he would put up the star.
Then life happened, and the first year he was living away for school came. I had him on FaceTime because I missed having him there.
Time moves quicker than we realize.
This is the tike to document your family memories. Before the day comes that your children are adults and aren’t there to put the star on the tree.

What if the reason you feel uncomfortable in front of a camera isn’t because you’re awkward - but because you’ve been conditioned to hide what’s not perfect?
For decades, the stereotype of a photo session has looked the same: coordinated outfits, everyone smiling, kids bribed to sit still, direction at every turn. We’ve been taught that a “good” photograph means performing happiness - not feeling it.

But what if it didn’t have to look like that?
What if being photographed could feel like breathing - natural, unforced, honest?
That’s the shift I want to create

Where do the days go? Why does it all pass by so quickly?
I am embarrassed to say this is the first time having family photos done since I was pregnant with my daughter.
I’m not sure why I waited so long.
Don’t be like me. Book family photos as often as you can! Do better than me!
