OMG, your studio has such AMAZING lighting!” and honestly… it really does.

having beautiful natural light is only part of it. You have to understand how to use it. When it’s cloudy, I know how to work with that soft, even light, and when the sun is coming through the windows, I know how to use it to my advantage instead of fighting it.

I also know how to adjust my camera settings to make the window light work for me where I’m exposing, how much light I’m letting into the camera, and how I want to balance the highlights and shadows depending on the look I’m creating. I actually don’t turn on the room lights during my shoots at all. The overhead lights in the room are very yellow and they’re not the right tones for skin, so I rely completely on the natural light coming through the windows. It’s knowing where to place my client, how to angle her, where the light is falling, how to position myself AND knowing what settings to use that creates the image.

The window gives me the light but knowing how to use it is what creates the magic. ✨

OKAYYYY, it has been a HOT minute since we ordered new pieces for the client closet, but this time… I think I seriously hit the JACKPOT!!! Another bo***ir photographer that I met back in Vegas in 2023 was selling her ENTIRE client closet, and of course I had to jump on it!

I have literally been tracking this package EVERY. SINGLE. DAY and I am SO freaking excited to see everything that’s coming. There are SO many pieces, including some gorgeous Honey Birdette pieces, and I cannot wait to get them all into the studio and see what we got! I’m definitely going to be unboxing this one with everyone because this is basically Christmas morning for a bo***ir photographer .📦

And honestly, this is one of my favourite parts of the experience I get to offer my clients. You aren’t expected to go shopping for your session, you don’t have to stress about finding outfits, and you definitely don’t have to bring something from home that you’re not even sure fits anymore.

I’ve been doing bo***ir for a LONG time and I have tried just about every way of doing this, and having a client closet is a MUST for an experience like this. I want you to be able to walk into the studio, look through the racks, try things on and find pieces that make you feel amazing without having to worry about the extra stress of shopping beforehand. And now that we’re adding a whole bunch of NEW pieces to the closet… I’m even more excited for what’s coming!

The client closet is about to get a BIG upgrade, and I cannot WAIT to show you everything!!!

There are SO many things bo***ir photographers secretly wish our clients knew… and honestly, we could probably make this list 10x longer. 😂

From the client closet to posing, nerves, body image, lighting and everything that happens behind the scenes there’s so much that goes into creating an experience where you feel comfortable, confident and completely yourself.

And yes… if you try something on from our client closet and hate it, we’re going to tell you. 😂 We’re not letting you walk out looking uncomfortable just because the piece looked cute on the hanger.

We want you to TRUST us, communicate with us and know that we are always in your corner.

If you got your photos taken 6 months ago and there were a few that you just couldn’t look at or didn’t like at the time, this is your sign to go back and look at them again.

Do you see yourself differently now?
What was the body part you were focusing on back then? Was it your stomach, your arms, your thighs, your face?
And now when you look at that same photo, what are you noticing instead?

Maybe you're seeing your eyes, your smile, the way your body was moving, or just how beautiful the moment actually was.

Our minds can be so mean to us sometimes, and we get so caught up in picking apart one little thing that we completely miss the beauty in the photo. Sometimes you don't need to delete the photo or decide you don't like it forever. Sometimes you just need to put it away for a little while and come back to it when you're in a different place mentally.

Maybe that photo you couldn't stand 6 months ago is one you finally see yourself in today.

This beach session had been a LONG time coming. 🌊🖤

We had planned this session weeks in advance, but Mother Nature had other plans. 😂 The weather kept changing, dates kept getting pushed, and it felt like we were constantly watching the forecast wondering, “Okay… are we actually going to get to do this?”

So on July 25th, I decided we were going.

I packed up my camera bag, headed to the beach, and hoped the weather would cooperate.

And when I arrived, everything just felt right.

The water, the movement of the fabric, the way the light was hitting the waves… it all came together in a way that you just can't completely plan for.

This is one of my favourite things about creating outdoors. You can have an entire vision in your head, but sometimes the location gives you something even better.

You just have to be willing to show up, adapt, and create with what's in front of you.

And THIS is why I will always love taking bo***ir outside of the studio. 🌊

It's raw. It's different. It's a little unpredictable.

And sometimes… that's where the magic happens.

I genuinely don't know if there are words big enough to explain what this means to me.

I started this business in 2013, just out of college, and I remember the countless late nights, hard decisions, pivots, failures, successes, lessons, tears, celebrations, and moments where I questioned whether I was even on the right path.

13 years later, I am incredibly honored to share that I've been nominated for TWO She & Success Awards 2026.

✨ Community Impact Award

These two categories represent two very important sides of the journey I've spent the last 13 years building.

Business Woman of the Year represents the entrepreneur I've fought to become the woman who kept going, kept learning, kept rebuilding, and continued to believe in her business even when it would've been easier to walk away. There were chapters where I probably should have taken time for myself, but I always put my business first. I showed up for my little business and always tried to do the right thing.

Community Impact means just as much to me because Bo***ir By Adriana has never just been about taking photographs. It's about women, confidence, and creating a space where someone can walk through the doors unsure of themselves and leave seeing themselves differently.

It's also about giving back to the community that has supported me for years supporting local causes, fundraisers, small businesses, and finding ways to make a difference beyond the studio.

I've learned that entrepreneurship isn't always glamorous, but my biggest piece of advice to any new business owner is this: learn from your past mistakes. If something isn't working, try again. Change it, learn from it, and keep moving forward.

I'm still here. Still building. Still growing. Still learning. And incredibly proud of what Bo***ir By Adriana has become.

What an amazing way to celebrate years of entrepreneurship! 🥂

To me, protecting your peace and your energy isn't about shutting people out or avoiding anything difficult. It's about becoming more intentional with what gets access to you.

It's realizing that not everything deserves a reaction, an explanation, or your emotional energy.

It's saying no without feeling guilty. Walking away from situations that constantly drain you. Letting people have their feelings without making them your responsibility. Spending more time with people who make you feel safe and like yourself. Taking a break when you're overwhelmed instead of constantly pushing through.

It's also allowing yourself to have fun. To laugh until your stomach hurts. To go outside just because you can. To do something that makes YOU happy without feeling like you should be doing something more productive.

And maybe most importantly, it's learning to stop comparing yourself to everyone else's timeline, body, success, relationship, or life.

Because peace isn't something you find once everything in your life is perfect.

You can create little pockets of peace while life is still messy.

And I think that's something so many of us women forget.

We've spent so much of our lives giving our energy to everyone else that sometimes we forget we're allowed to give some of that energy back to ourselves.

Maybe that's what healing really is.
