So last week I went to Newfoundland for the very first time! It was a wonderful experience, I went to some amazing places, including a pencil gallery, and bought an awesome print of Fogo hotel!

I went to Twillingate, Bonavista, Elliston, Trinity, and Gros Morne! We saw puffins, icebergs, and a few moose too! It was definitely one of my favourite trips, and I highly recommend!

So you decided to start gouache painting!

How exciting!! You’ll have so much fun!! Now let’s chat a little about my favourite ways to paint with gouache and supplies I would recommend. Of course this is my opinion, you can make art however you want.

1. I always paint using high quality watercolour paper, I’ve tried Bristol, and mixed media paper and prefer watercolour paper over those!!
2. Traditional gouache is similar to watercolour in the fact that it’s water soluble which means that if your paint dried on your palette you can reactivate the paint by adding water!
3. Acrylic Gouache is a bit different once tried it is waterproof so it cannot be deactivated.

Both dry matte, and are beautiful! So have fun, experiment and enjoy one of my favourite mediums!
