We left our house for the first time since Monday (hallelujah) to check out our fave little Christmas parade in Berwick. The kids got their first glimpse of Santa this year and we took the long way home to check out the Christmas lights. I have taken almost no photos of my kids (with my actual camera) since school started in September. Actually, the last photos I took of them were on Halloween. 🫠

The past three months have been extremely challenging for me, for all of us. This season has included every virus known to man, more weddings than I’ve done in an entire year packed into 5 weeks, Covid, a school strike that kept my 4-year old home with me for two weeks, on top of work and university. Top that off with whatever nightmare illness we (and the rest of Nova Scotia) has just experienced, and man I am counting down the minutes until Christmas break.

The Christmas parade is one of my favourite holiday events, and was a great reminder of all the twinkly bits of joy that are strung in-between the challenges and that at the end of all the work a cozy blanket, a cheesy Christmas movie, and a cup of good cheer awaits us!

Can’t wait to see my friends and family over this holiday season— I’ll be soaking up every last minute this year. 🎄Town of Berwick

Honestly, Halloween is not my fave. I could take it or leave it. I’m definitely more of a Christmas girl and do the bare minimum for Halloween. I don’t make homemade costumes, we don’t dress up as a family, we have to buy treats more than once because we always get into them before the 31st, I taped some pre-cut out bats that I got from Giant Tiger to the wall, and we already threw out our rotting pumpkins.

But this. I am here for this. I love Halloween, for this. These six girls together. Six candy filled bags. Six heads to count in the dark. Six princesses, unicorns, wolves, and deer to chase down the road. This makes me happy for Halloween each year.

This is our 8th Halloween Trick or Treating together (started taking this picture 7 Halloween’s ago) and I don’t want this tradition to ever come to and end.

So while I’m dusting off my Mariah Carey Christmas album for tomorrow, I’ll be fondly (and probably emotionally) looking back on these photos tonight.

Happy Christmas Season Eve everyone! I hope your bellies are full of Reece’s and all the ghosts have left the building (except for those belonging to Ebenezer Scrooge). 👻

Enjoying these chilly fall mornings, featuring, oversized sweater, cozy socks, and hot cup of coffee. 🍂☕️

It’s not often we have a weekend with no plans, so while I will be spending most of the day doing school work/editing, I will be enjoying some homemade waffles (thanks B) and some snuggle time with the girls first.

✨about last night ✨

which I hope you also read to the tune of Lizzo’s “About Damn Time”, cause that’s fitting too!

Jenn and Dean sealed the deal last night in front of their friends and family. This day could not have been filled with more laughter! From first looks and vows to tractor rides, the best shoe game (who is better looking? Jenn, in this dress? Dean, in this bowtie? There is no wrong answer here), and drinks, tear-jerking toasts and alllll the dance moves!

It was an absolutely beautiful day and I’m so happy to have been a part of it!

Konatsu and Tyler took the “wind beneath my wings” to a whole other level today.

We had full sun and we nearly blew out to sea but you couldn’t possibly fail to witness the absolute love shared between these two.

After 12 years (and a little rescheduling) these beautiful people finally sealed the deal— and the whole thing was so easygoing, fun, and absolutely beautiful ✨

Do not underestimate the joy in a small wedding! They’re intimate, simple, and can include all of the things YOU want for your wedding, especially when you’re working with a budget.

Thank you Jennifer and Cody for letting me tag along. It was one of my faves. 💕

I’ve always appreciated the importance of photographs. How often have you thought, I wish I could hold onto this moment forever?

Freezing time.

I can’t imagine what it would be like to use only our memory to bring us back to all of the exceptional, wonderful, heartbreaking, life-changing, and mundane moments of our lives. Could you remember it all?

Just a glimpse of a photo can launch me back to Rowyn’s first day of preschool, Ciara’s toddler piggy tails, Avery’s first snuggle with her big sisters. I can return to our wedding day, my grandparent’s anniversary party in Whale Cove, my high school musical.

My own mum holding me in her arms— back before the memory could even possibly exist in my own mind.

I’ve always appreciated the importance of photographs and some days I get a little extra reminder of why. 🤍
