Learning and having fun experimenting colour! 💖🧡💛

Incase you didn't already know; I have been doing my hair Apprentiship! I officially start school at Niagara College this fall. But with the guidence of my mom I have already been learning and performing basic services .

It is a complete blessing to have a mentor willing to share their passion with you. Even more so that that mentor be my mom! I can't wait to see what this chapter brings and to have fun applying my artistic background to hair. Stay tuned and I will continue to share more of my journey with you.

I know that there are much worse tragedies in the world right now. I know I feel extremely lucky to live where I do, and have the privilege that comes along with all of that. To be safe, to have healthcare, to live a comfortable life etc... Something that my grandparents dreamed of when they immigrated to Canada. That is why I am generally hesitant to complain about the things that effect me personally on social media. But to say that I am not upset is a lie.

My mom has worked her butt off for my whole life (actually even longer) to have this salon to support her family along with my father. I would be incredibly saddened to see us loose our family buisness.

We have only been allowed to open for 4 weeks this year. This is despite the fact that cases of Covid-19 related to personal care settings have been incredibly low (as put out by the government of Ontario). Yet we will not open June 14th in phase 1 of reopening but not until atleast 21 days after.

We keep pivoting our business to the best of our ability; online sales etc. But frankly we need to open. We need the grant we were approved for in February to finally be delivered. We want to open as safely as possible and legally. Our industy needs more help. Small business needs better advocates in government.
