the tiniest details… the ones that change far too quickly 🤍

one of the questions I get asked most is “when should we book newborn photos?”

and the truth is — there isn’t just one right answer.

while traditional posed sessions are often done within the first 7–10 days, my approach is a little different. I focus on connection, softness, and the in-between moments… which means we have more flexibility.

I typically recommend booking your session for around 2 weeks after your due date, and we adjust from there depending on how everyone is settling into this new season.

because what matters most isn’t how tiny they are…
it’s remembering how it all felt 🤍

One thing I always tell my families… don’t wait until baby is here to book your newborn session 🤍

Those first few weeks go by in a blur — you’re healing, adjusting, soaking it all in… and the last thing you want to be doing is scrambling to find a photographer.

When you book with me, we choose a tentative date about 2 weeks after your due date, and from there I keep things flexible. Because let’s be honest… babies have their own plans, and so do mamas 🤍

In-home newborn sessions are designed to feel calm, slow, and natural — no pressure, just your family as you are in this season.

This session felt like stepping into a real afternoon in their home — baking their family’s chocolate chip cookie recipe, dancing around the kitchen, and capturing the kind of moments that make up everyday life together.

We photographed this beautiful season… and their baby boy made his entrance the very next week — one month early 🤍

I usually suggest booking maternity sessions around 28–34 weeks — when you’re glowing, comfortable, and we’re not cutting it close.

But there are no hard rules here.

I had my own maternity photos done 36 hours before I delivered my third.

Sometimes the timing works out exactly how it’s meant to. 💛✨
