Let’s talk newborn sessions with toddler siblings. Toddlers don’t need to be “managed.” They need to feel safe 🤍

I hear it all the time: “I’m worried my toddler won’t behave for photos.”
But toddlers aren’t meant to behave. They’re meant to explore, move, feel, and be curious.

As an Early Childhood Educator, preschool teacher, and mom of three, I’ve spent years learning how toddlers communicate, even when it looks like chaos 😅 Big feelings, hesitation, constant movement… it’s all completely normal.

When toddlers feel at ease, there’s less pressure, for them and for their parents.

I have lots of little tricks up my sleeve but honestly? Most toddlers just seem to feel comfortable with me naturally. I don’t rush, I don’t force smiles, and I always follow their lead.

So if you’re stressing about your child “cooperating” please don’t.
They don’t need to sit still or smile on cue. They don’t need to be perfectly behaved. I’ll meet them exactly where they’re at.
