Another of my closest friends has been taken away. 💔
Pauly and I have been through thick and thin- a lifetime of memories, inside jokes, fights, forgiveness, and 3am phone calls. Twenty years of friendship, from lovers to family. Always telling it straight. Always having each other’s backs.
I wanted him to see himself the way I saw him. I wanted the world to hear his gift. His music was full of heart- raw, poetic, brutally honest, unfiltered, and gut-wrenching. His talent was boundless. His humour and charm were unmatched.
These photos were taken in the fall, the last time he came to N.S. to visit me. He convinced me to shoot a music video for him, even though I had never before pressed record on my camera. I made him sit for stills. Last he told me the song was getting mixed and mastered, and would be released later this year.
He still had so much to share with the world.
I love you, Paulywood (aka Paulywoggers). You are a big part of who I am. I’m still trying to find the words… or accept that this is real.
Hold your people tight, people. Cherish the time you have with them. I’m fully convinced it’s all that matters.
