we were hoping for some strong afternoon sun, blue skies and sparkling water to backdrop the outdoor portion of this session, but when you have multiple busy schedules and nova scotia’s temperamental spring, you lean into the moment for what it is and create — if you’re open and willing, you can get results you never imagined.
this openness is always at the heart of what I do, because you can plan everything from head to toe and go over that plan a million times, but when you only have one moment and it looks different than you expected or hoped, you have to be willing to set your expectations aside and be inspired by what is in front of you. and honestly? I love that, because it’s real.

big props to sehmat for enduring the cold wind and rain to create these outdoor portraits with me.
