One year before this day, E+M were legally married in Austria.

But they always knew they wanted to celebrate here. With Emma’s roots in Nova Scotia and Max’s family traveling all the way from Austria, they gathered on the Halifax waterfront surrounded by the people who have shaped their lives on both sides of the ocean.

And I can’t imagine a more East Coast way to do it. Oysters. Fresh lobster rolls. Fog hanging over the harbour. A little mist. A little rain. Slower, more romantic. Quintessential Nova Scotia vibes.

Not once did they seem bothered by it. Because the day was never about the weather. It was about their people. You could feel it everywhere. In the way their friends showed up for them. In the way their families embraced one another. In every laugh, hug and happy tear throughout the day.

One of my favourite moments happened after Emma changed into her second dress. Her grandmother’s face completely lit up when she saw her. Emma walked over and kissed her on the forehead, and it was one of those quiet moments that could have easily passed in an instant.

Lately, life has been reminding me how important moments like that are. It’s funny how the seasons we walk through can change what we notice. They have a way of slowing us down and bringing certain things into focus.

And that’s what this day felt like to me. Not perfect because the weather cooperated. Perfect because it was real.

A celebration that spanned continents, generations, and so many people who love these two deeply.

E+M, thank you for trusting me with all of it. I had such a good time with you both and your people.

Already 5 weddings into the season, and June is about to be my busiest month of the year.

A lot of my weddings this month are right here in Halifax, which means I’ll be bouncing between some of my favourite places to photograph. Along the waterfront, through the Public Gardens and down whatever side street happens to catch my eye that day.

A friendly tip if you’re planning sunset photos in the Public Gardens: don’t cut it too close. The gates lock 30 minutes before dusk and, occasionally, they seem to operate on their own schedule. Let’s just say some photographers have learned that lesson the memorable way.

June, I’m ready for you. 🤍

Spent the evening bopping around Dartmouth with L+A, stopping at all these places tied to memories from way before they even met each other. Childhood spots, familiar streets, little landmarks they’ve each known forever.

I don’t shoot in Dartmouth super often, so it was honestly really fun to just wander the city with them and document it all as we went.

Can’t wait to capture their wedding in 2027! 💛

Something about this season of life just feels meant for both. The real-time moments and the ones that already feel like a memory.

This editorial honestly felt more like a real wedding day than most editorials do.

We had very limited time with the couple, so a huge part of the day became figuring out how to move through the space quickly and make something beautiful out of the time we had. One room, then another. Constantly thinking ahead. Constantly adjusting.

I think people sometimes imagine styled shoots as slow paced and perfectly curated from start to finish, but wedding photography rarely feels that way in real life. Timelines shift. The best light never lasts as long as you want it to. And sometimes you only get ten minutes at sunset before everyone’s being pulled in another direction.

This one pushed me creatively in a way I really loved because there wasn’t time to overthink every frame. I just had to trust my instincts, lean into what was unfolding naturally, and create images that still felt personal to them in the middle of all the movement.

Honestly, it reminded me that some of my favourite photographs are usually the ones created in those in-between moments where there’s a little bit of pressure and you simply have to make it work.

It’s shaping up to be a beautiful day, and I’d love to capture you!

If you’ve been thinking about it, this is your sign.

There’s something about full circle moments that always feels a little surreal.

I first met K+J in Italy, celebrating two of their closest friends, a couple who have since become dear friends of mine as well. So to reconnect almost a year later, in a completely different part of the world, felt really special.

I had an idea going into this shoot. Something I wanted to bring to life while I was in Toronto. And being there honestly caught me off guard a bit. Just how many people there are, the traffic, how full and lively everything feels. I couldn’t get over it. It’s a different pace, and you feel it right away.

During my commute to U of T, my Uber driver pulled over, got out to run into Tim Hortons, and left me sitting in the car for ten minutes. I sent K + J a photo of the empty driver’s seat and said, “I’ll be late…”. They had a great sense of humour about it. But…since when do Ubers leave you unattended.

Anyway, when I finally got to U of T and saw K+J, it just felt easy. Big hugs, open arms, just really warm, kind energy. And I could tell pretty quickly, even in those first few frames, that what they share is real. There’s something really natural about the way they are together.

I think no matter how much I go into a session with an idea or a vision, the best moments come from letting that go a little. Paying attention. Letting people be exactly who they are with each other.

It felt really special to capture them again in a new place closer to home and to celebrate their engagement. 🤎

It’s May & beach sessions are officially back.

One of my favourite places for engagement sessions because you can either slow things down to feel soft and romantic, or shift into something playful and full of movement. Or, like this session, a little bit of both.
