“April showers bring May flowers,” as the saying goes…

This emotional rainy early spring session was basically the definition of spring in Nova Scotia. Of course it was rainy, of course it was foggy, and of course it was freezing cold… but honestly, I wouldn’t have wanted it any other way.

Wind in their hair, wet boots, numb fingers, and all the dreamy fog we could ask for. We absolutely rocked it, and I already know their little one is so lucky to be joining a love like this.

I’ve been quiet for a while now
and honestly, I’ve gone back and forth on how (or even if) I should say something.

Social media has always been hard for me and I really wanted my next post of the year to feel light and fun!
Something about how amazing 2025 was and that 2026 is going to be bright and full of opportunity
(and I still believe there’s some much good stuff this year) but the more the world kept shifting, and the heavier things felt everywhere, it just didn’t feel right to post like nothing was happening.

I’ve been hesitating making a post like this for weeks because the truth is… I don’t want to lose any of you, my regular clients, the people who’ve supported me for years and years, or scare off new people who are just finding me
but I also don’t want to pretend I’m not feeling the weight of everything right now
between rising costs and fuel prices.
 I’ve honestly felt a little lost trying to navigate how to keep things sustainable… but part of that means keeping things transparent!

You want to know why these two are laughing so hard? It’s because we noticed the “court in session” sign behind them and at the same time sang the Law&Order jingle… a hilarious moment I’ll never forget!

I’m seeing a ton of year end reviews and round-up, and I’m just here to say… I’m not ready 😅🫶

I have 4 more sessions booked before the holidays!

This year started off slow, and I was worried I may need to shift careers, but things really picked up and now finishing with a bang! I definitely took on more than I could handle over these last few months but I’m forever grateful for everyone who trusted me and my process and loves what I do! You all seriously mean the world to me 🖤🥹 we are over here making ART!

Anyway I’ll share more when I’m done shooting these 4 sessions, it has been quite the year!

It’s definitely going to look like summer on here for a little while ☀️
I’ve got so much to share from the last few months… I’ve just been a tiny bit buried in my editing cave. Wedding season has finally wrapped, though, and I’m officially making real progress on editing again 🫶
Thank you all for waiting so patiently. I know the anticipation is real! Editing is a long (and honestly, kind of lonely) process, with lots of mini-breaks required, but your excitement keeps me going. Can’t wait to show you what I’ve been working on!

At my favourite beach with one of my favourite families!

Sometimes photo sessions with kids don’t go exactly as planned… and that’s totally okay!

At photoshoots we’re on kid time, but the best photos usually happen in the moments between what we thought we were coming for… the snack breaks, the running away, the tears and the cuddles that come after.

A little advice from your family photographer? Let go of the plan, trust the chaos a little, and that’s usually where the magic sneaks in.
