I had good intentions to post a nice lengthy & heart felt post with a good caption for once .. then my cats smashed one of my potted cactus’ and making the biggest mess they could think of..first thing this morning & that’s how the day has carried on so far😩

So for now, enjoy this pretty photo of a beautiful summer wedding from a few seasons back while I try to collect myself from my poor plant drama- it’s an old but a goodie!

I’m such a sucker for a close up ring shot!
Let’s be real, most people assume the getting ready shots & detail shots “aren’t that important” but I honestly think the ! AND they’re actually some of my favourite moments!
I LOVE watching your girls hype you up to get into your beautiful wedding gown, sharing laughs and making life long memories on one of the most important days of your life - I truly live to capture these types of connection & once in a lifetime moments. It’s food for my soul 🤍

Finally getting a chance to share some of my amazing sessions I had over the summer!
I’m still not quite fully caught up yet 😅 but these people are to wonderful inside & out not to share!

Jessica and I go way back - I’m talking way way back to when we both lived in Cape Breton and used to be childhood besties when we were just little kiddos! It was such a fun and amazing experience to feel like we’ve come full circle to see and meet her beautiful family. When she reached out to me for a session, I was immediately excited! I knew this one was going to be extra special with the best kind of memories made.

When I arrived, the kids were already soaked, sand was all over everyone, the sun was high in the sky, and the smiles were even brighter. We truly had the most amazing day making even more priceless memories.

That’s exactly what your family sessions should be like! If you have littles who are feeling wild and free during your shoot, let’s roll with it and embrace the chaos! They’re only small once so let’s jump in the ocean and get sandy! Let’s make the best kind of memories together 🤍

Have you ever felt like life can be peaceful & chaotic at the same time? Oh man, do I ever feel this way lately.

This season of life for me has changed me in so many ways I never thought possible. I’ve been learning to have a greater appreciation and understanding for practicing patience, (which did not always come easy to me before becoming a mom.) It’s really easy to lose your cool over small stuff when you’re exhausted, overtired, overstimulated & just over being touched. I still feel like this some days, but I’m learning that giving myself grace for my not-so-perfect days is just as important as teaching my little that it’s okay to make mistakes.

What’s that one line from Bluey that Chili teaches us? “Have a little cry, pick myself up, dust myself off, and keep going! The show must go on!”

“The days are long, but the years are short”
I used to hear this a lot from people when I was pregnant with Theo. It’s something I never really fully grasped until he was born. Honestly at first all I could focus on was “the days are long” because wow, can some days feel like they’re never ending when you’re in the trenches of being a first time mom.
It’s not always easy or glamorous, & most days it’s really messy, but eventually everything just clicks and falls into place. Suddenly, it’s not so scary anymore and you’re sleeping through the night again.

Suddenly, your newborn is over a year old & you’re wondering where your precious little baby bun has gone so fast.

Now it just feels like the days are short, and the years are shorter and all I want is for time to slow down 🤍🌸
