There’s so much to explore in our own backyards. We had plans for trip further from home but decided to visit a place we’ve been before, but hadn’t done much getting to know it.

We camped at Nova Scotia Provincial Parks Caribou-Monroe’s Island Provincial Park near Pictou. It was a great, tidy park with a lovely beach.

We spent a day exploring around the Pictou area and another day venturing a little further away. We checked out a total of 6 provincial parks, hiked, saw seals, lighthouses, waterfalls and the ferry to Prince Edward Island.

These shots are from the Caribou Lighthouse, just a short drive from where we camped.

I’m so happy to have so many special moments caught on camera, especially since Jackson has passed. And even happier that Franey got to spend the first year+ of her life growing up with Jackson.

This was a camping trip in 2025 when we are able to head out on a hike after weeks of staying out of the woods due to wildfire risk. Franey was just 17 weeks old and Jackson 17 years old.

We’re off to a barn ratting workshop with GTG Rat Sports this weekend.

Memphis is taking a Master/Champion level class today and Franey is in Novice/Advanced. Mersey isn’t into rat sports, but she will be there for moral support and treats.

Here’s a little peak at what we do at barn ratting lessons from a session with Bluenose Rat Sports last year.

A month without Jackson 💔

Somehow a month without him feels longer than the almost 18 years he was here. And yet his loss feels like yesterday at the same time. Despite the pain of saying goodbye, I’d choose him over and over again.

Thanks for being the best Jackson, I know you are with us watching over us and the girls ❤️‍🩹
