My solo exhibition, “RECALCITRANCE,” at the Craig Gallery, Alderney Landing in Dartmouth, is still up until May 24th, 2026.

A big THANK YOU to everyone who joined me for the opening and my artist talk and visited the exhibition! It was amazing to share my work with you!

Recalcitrance presents a body of work exploring the environmental afterlives of plastic waste collected from Nova Scotia’s shorelines. Through lens-based, post-photographic, and sculptural approaches, the work transforms discarded plastics into speculative forms and uncanny, vital entities — ghostly technofossils. The exhibition examines the agency, disintegration, persistence, and ecological entanglements of plastic in the context of the contemporary environmental crisis. It encourages questions about our shared future with this complex material.

Tomorrow is the last day to see my work “net.works” in the exhibition ‘Flax Ecologies’ at Ross Creek Center for the Arts. It was a pleasure to be exhibited with 15 amazing artists as part of the Flaxmobile maker project. Being involved in this 2 year long pathway of reconnecting with the process of growing, harvesting and materializing Flax was such an enriching and remarkable experience! I will post more about it and the upcoming exhibition in Cape Breton!! Stay tuned!!

This lovely exhibition is still on display until April 21st at Hermes Gallery and I feel really excited to be part of it! Don’t miss it out and stop by after your visit at the Halifax Book Fair tomorrow Sat April 13th! I’ll be at the Gallery from 12-6 pm!!
Book Club is a book and text-based group show by HERMES artists and friends, curated by .macaulay and Peter Dykhuis, presented in concert with the inaugural on Saturday 13 April.

Any of us who have ever been part of a book club know that most of the social time spent together is talking about everything else except the book under discussion. But the critical chat eventually does come around to the subject matter. Yet the ‘peripheral’ conversations are equally important.

Responding to the direct and peripheral, HERMES artists, friends, and institutional colleagues have included: books and text-based artworks; printed matter and multiples; content created conceptually or physically from books, stories, narratives, and texts; and samples of members’ archival exhibition catalogues published by other galleries.

Participating artists include: Robert Bean, Catherine Beaudette, .clarkson David Clarkson, Thierry Delva, Peter Dykhuis, .fosterini Eryn Foster, Leah Garnett, Barbara Lounder, James MacSwain, Mathew Reichertz, Sally Wolchyn-Raab and special guests Nova Scotia Book Arts Group, Amos Paul Kennedy Jr, Wiebke Schroeder
