Hold on tight that the Easter Bunny is coming ! 🐰
These chicks and bunnies sessions are truly an experience. They are not meant to be minis, in and out, they are meant to enjoy and don’t rush through. They are meant to learn more about being gentle with these sweet baby animals. Laugh and get excited at how it feels to have their little paws on your hands.

A Birthday Letter to my Fia

Baby, you are 14. You make me the proudest aunt in the whole world. Every year we do this for your special day – it’s our little photoshoot tradition; it is Sofia and tía Lucia time.

Every year for your birthday, you pick a place with animals. Every year I am amazed by your heart, your smile, and innocence. I already know what a wonderful girl you are. But every year I realize how soon you are to be a fantastic woman.

In case you forget, on the drive back, you said you loved giving hugs to all the animals. We decided to listen to French music because apparently, we both love it, that’s how I promised you that in a few years you and I will go together to Paris – oh good God lol

But there isn’t anything I wouldn’t do for you.

I continue trying to make all your dreams come true. My favourite part will always be hearing your giggles talking to the donkey, and laughing at Isla and Wallace, the highland cows, trying to get you off their fence lol

Happy 14th birthday, sweet girl. I love you to the moon and back.

I always try to put love and effort into naming the sessions and experiences I plan for you. “What Love Grows Motherhood Minis” is meant to remind you that every milestone, smile, and their sense of security are possible because you have created a safe space full of love and care for your kiddos. They are blooming into little wonderful boys and girls thanks to your love, and your day by day sacrifices.

As a mom you take care of everyone before you, but this time you can do something for you. To make you happy.

We will be inside the greenhouse and if the weather cooperates we can also go outside and explore. We are going to breathe in the moment. To embrace the chaos. There are only 3 spots left.

In between moments. In between chaos. In between trying to achieve “perfection” we find the most memorable special memories we don’t want to forget. In fact, you can make everything paused only for you to breathe it all in.

✨Save it for your next newborn session ✨

I get asked often of my flow for newborn session and how we get these emotional candid images. A newborn session will be run by baby, let’s say that up front lol but the trick is on how you structure your session:

There are many different beautiful shots that you can capture from a single pose, without having to move baby unnecessarily. Sometimes it can be the angle you take or moving one person in or out. Here is a bit more detailed explanation on each image:

1. Baby on her own, I love this shot too because it is a way to show how little she is while laying on daddy’s arm.
2. Do a step back and get dad on the shot. You can also do looking at the camera images here.
3. Bring mamma in. Especially for newborn session, I love taking close ups while baby still being the center of attention. Here are a few prompts that could help you: looking at each other, exchanging kisses, looking at the camera, you can get natural reactions here too like laughing, etc.
4. Go a little further and show the place where you are shooting. Showing your location, it always gives context and adds to your storytelling. It can be a studio, or it can be your client’s home. If you have the opportunity, shoot through or a door or a window.

If you have little siblings participating, here are a few 💡

💡Mom can hold them up and repeat the same idea. Give both kids equal attention, or you can make a toddler laugh while mom and dad look at baby.
💡For the last shot, they can be standing holding on to mom/ dad or simply playing in front of them.
💡You can try for sibling to give baby a kiss on the head by being carried by mom, by going on their tippy toes or by dad going down to his knees.
