There are just over TWO WEEKS left to apply for the next exhibition of Art at Seven Innovation. The call for submissions for Exhibition No. 3 closes at midnight on Monday, December 18! Be a part of this exciting new venue for local Hamilton-area artists to share their work.

Exhibition No. 3 runs from February 8, 2024 to June 5, 2024.

I am the director, project manager, web developer, and chief Dumbledore of this exciting NEW rotating exhibition space and the opening reception of Exhibition No. 1 is happening this coming Thursday, June 22 from 7-9 pm!

I hope you can join me along with the good people at Artefact Social and the Hamilton Technology Centre. It has long been in their sights to put together a space like this for artists and arts lovers, and now here we are, officially launching Exhibition No. 1 of Art at Seven Innovation! (https://www.artatseveninnovation.ca).

We have 32 local-area artists (some WAAH members) participating with over 50 pieces. There is a range artists selected for this juried exhibition, from emerging artists to well-known and established artists such as Paul Elia and Cheryl-Ann Hills. We’re thrilled to also be able to showcase the work of exciting new-to-the-area artists like Joseph Leanage.

All are welcome to join us as we celebrate our first exhibition and the wonderful talent we have in the city and surrounding area. There will be live music, drinks, food, and one of the sponsors, West Avenue Cider, will be there offering up samples of their delicious cider. It should be a nice evening!

Art at Seven Innovation is located in the atrium of the Hamilton Technology Centre at 7 Innovation Drive in Dundas (top of Hwy 6 and 5, across from the new CHCH building).

I am so honoured to have been awarded 2nd place in the inaugural photography exhibition at the Ancaster Memorial Arts Centre . A big congratulations to Hamilton Photographers Rock member Leslie Anne Harris for her gorgeous sunrise of Hamilton (I always appreciate your beautiful work and the fact that you rise early and share the magical moments you capture), and to Norm Brown, the 1st place winner, for his amazing capture of, I think Cannon St, through his icy/snowy car windshield! It was amazing, so distorted and colourful. Reminded me of local artist Claudette Losier's paintings! And a big thank you to Randy Osatchuk for all his hard work on putting this show together, and to all behind the scenes who were involved. The exhibition runs until June 30, be sure to check it out and see what a fantastic centre it is that they've put together. Music, theatre, film, art.. and in such a beautiful space.
