From the rodeo dirt to a hospital room on Christmas Eve. 📸🐂

When you buy a photo or video from a CARA or BRC event, you are doing a lot more than just supporting a rural photographer. You are directly funding the Social Santa Patchwork Bear mission.

I pivoted my studio into the rodeo world this year because I believe in the grit of these athletes and the deep family roots of these grassroots associations. I took a financial hit to do it, but the rodeo families keeping this mission alive make it absolutely worth the grind.

A teddy bear doesn't know where the dollar came from. 🧸

Last January, the heartbeat of my studio took a massive hit when bureaucracy decided my presence—and my bears—were no longer welcome in their facilities on Christmas Eve.

They decided the branding that paid my bills didn't fit their sterilized corporate image. But a child sitting in a hospital room on Christmas Eve doesn't care about board meetings or liability forms. They just need something soft to hold in the middle of a nightmare.

I’ve never hidden who I am, how I hustle, or where the money goes. So when one door closed, I took my lens to the dirt to find a new way to fund this mission.

I just published a very raw, unfiltered journal entry explaining the pivot to rodeo, the reality of the social media grind, and why the 2026 Social Santa season is going to look a little different.
