IT FINALLY FEELS LIKE OUTDOOR SESSION SEASON ā˜€ļø

The weather is finally warm, sunny, and starting to feel like real summer — which means outdoor session season is officially here.

And honestly… I’ve been waiting for this.

I recently found an incredibly beautiful location in the Innisfil/Barrie area that gives us the best of both worlds — a cozy cafĆ© atmosphere combined with stylish outdoor spots. But I’m keeping the exact location a little secret for now šŸ¤

If you’re interested, send me a message and I’ll happily share all the details and session options.

May and June are already fully booked, and I’m now opening bookings for July and August ā˜€ļø

Summer dates always go quickly, so if you’ve been thinking about booking a session — now is the perfect time to reach out šŸ¤

MOTHERHOOD CHANGES EVERYTHING

From the moment another little heartbeat begins to grow beneath our own, life is never truly the same again.

Everything changes.
The way we love.
The way we feel.
The way we see the world.

And somehow, our hearts only grow bigger with it.

Happy Mother’s Day to all the incredible moms — to the women whose hearts learned a kind of love that changes everything šŸ¤

SUMMER IS ALMOST HERE… BUT IT DOESN’T FEEL LIKE IT

It’s already the end of spring, and somehow it still feels cold outside. But even with the weather doing its own thing, you can see it — nature is waking up. Trees are getting ready to bloom, flowers are starting to appear, and little by little, color is coming back.

And honestly, my studio feels the same right now.

Lately, I’ve been focusing on simple portrait sessions for little ones — with a fun twist: fruit bath setups. Bright, playful, and full of color… exactly the kind of images that just make you smile.

These sessions are perfect for babies who can sit confidently, usually from around 7 to 18 months.

If you’ve been thinking about booking something like this, feel free to message me — I’ll be happy to share all the details.

HAVE YOU EVER HAD DAYS WHEN YOU JUST WANT TO WALK AWAY?

Like… drop everything and say ā€œthat’s it, I’m done.ā€

A couple of days ago, I had one of those moments.

Creative work comes with highs and lows.
With doubts. With overthinking. With those little voices in your head that won’t stay quiet.

And I was right there — ready to give up.

And then… a message came in.

One of my clients had just received her gallery.

And in that moment, everything shifted.

Because I realized — this is exactly why I do what I do.

Of course, money matters. We all need to earn, to live, to pay bills.

But what truly makes me happy in this work isn’t the income.

It’s moments like this.

Moments when you understand that you’ve given someone a small piece of happiness.
That you were part of something meaningful in their life.

And hearing their reaction… it’s worth more than anything.

That’s the part that keeps me going.

ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE VS HUMAN

What does this actually mean for me as a photographer?

Do I use artificial intelligence? Yes.
Has it made my life easier? Yes.
Does it help? Absolutely.

Can I fully rely on it and replace human work with it?
At this point - no.

And this reel is a perfect example.

A very simple fix. Something that takes seconds to do manually.
But with AI - multiple attempts, different prompts, adjustments… and still wrong results.

Sometimes it does incredible things and saves a huge amount of time.
And sometimes it struggles with the simplest details.

You can refine your prompt again and again, try to explain it better, more precisely - and still not get the result you need.

And in the end, you realize you’ve spent far more time on something you could have fixed yourself in seconds.

Will it replace us one day? Maybe.
But right now, it’s a tool - not a replacement.

SIX YEARS LATER… AND EVERYTHING FEELS THE SAME - JUST MORE

Six years ago, they came to me with their third baby - the second little one from their family that I photographed.

This time, they walked into my studio with their fourth baby… and children I once photographed as tiny newborns.

I won’t lie, it caught me off guard. Because in my head, it never feels like that much time has passed.

But then you see it.
You see how life moves, how families grow, how moments quietly turn into memories.

And somehow, I get to be there again - trusted to capture another beginning.

There’s something incredibly special about returning clients. It’s not just about the photos anymore. It’s about connection, about being part of their story in a small, but meaningful way.

And I don’t take that for granted.

Not even for a second.

The eyes are the mirror of the soul.

And honestly, it's one of the first things I pay attention to when I edit.

When you shoot in RAW, straight out of camera the eyes often look flat, with less depth and color than they actually have in real life.

That's where the real work begins.

I enhance the iris, bring back natural tones, gently clean the whites, and add just enough contrast to make the eyes feel alive again - not overdone, just the way they should look.

It might seem like a small detail.

But this is exactly what makes the difference, especially when the image is printed large. What looks fine on your phone becomes very visible on your wall.

Professional photography is about getting everything right - down to the smallest details.

Have you ever thought about how much work happens behind the scenes after the photoshoot?

WHY A NEWBORN PHOTOGRAPHER NEEDS TO BE MORE THAN JUST A PHOTOGRAPHER

Newborn photography is never just about taking a beautiful picture.

Behind every final image, there is so much more happening that most people never see.

You are not only working with a camera. You are working with a tiny baby who needs to be handled safely, gently, and with full awareness of every movement. You are working with parents who need to feel calm, reassured, and confident that their baby is in the right hands. You are managing the atmosphere, the timing, the temperature in the studio, the flow of the session, and all the little details that can completely change how everything goes.

Nothing here should be random. Nothing should be rushed. And nothing should be based on guesswork.

A newborn photographer needs patience, control, sensitivity, preparation, and experience - not just creativity.

Because in this kind of work, making the photo look beautiful is only one part of the job.

The most responsible part of the work happens before it. Everything else is about refining it to perfection.
