A little health update ❤️
I have the results from my MRCP and have also met with a GI specialist.
The really good news is that my MRCP showed no damage to my pancreas and no pancreatic insufficiency. Everything looked normal! 🙌 After everything my pancreas has put me through over these last several months, I honestly wasn’t expecting to hear that, so I’m incredibly relieved.
The frustrating part is that we still don’t know why I keep getting pancreatitis. At this point, it appears to be idiopathic recurrent pancreatitis, which basically means… they don’t know what’s causing it. 😒
My specialist has ordered some additional bloodwork and will also be sending me for an endoscopic ultrasound to look a little deeper and hopefully rule out some of the less obvious causes.
There is a possibility that sludge or something very small was causing problems and has since passed, but we just don’t know for sure.
The best news of all is that I’ve actually been feeling pretty good these last few days! ❤️ I’m finally able to eat a little more without immediately ending up in pain or feeling sick, and after the last couple of months, that feels HUGE.
So for now, I’m taking the good news for what it is: my pancreas looks healthy, there’s no visible damage, and I’m finally starting to feel more like myself again.
Thank you so much to everyone who has checked in on me, sent messages, been patient with me and continued following along through all of this. Hopefully this is finally the beginning of a much better stretch. ❤️
