The Orion Nebula (M42), Andromeda Galaxy (M31), and Pleiades star cluster (M45/Seven Sisters) are go-to targets for amateur astronomer photographers like me. From my patio I used my mirrorless camera and 135mm lens on the low cost Nomad tracker by Move Shoot Move, I was able to capture these objects. Still a lot to learn about editing in Siril, GraXpert, and Photoshop apps. It's a very deep rabbit hole ! Osoyoos, BC, October, 2026.

Barn Milky Way photo from Oliver,BC. October 13, 2026 at 12:06am. Our solar system is hurtling around the galactic core at roughly 515,000 mph (827,000 km/h), yet it still takes about 230 to 250 million years to complete a single full orbit. This image is a stack of 15 light frames and 6 dark frames to reduce noise, using a 20mm lens, then 166 second exposure of foreground to blend in.

Fall colours are starting to peak this week, also a great to time shoot some Kodak film in my medium format Bronica ETRSi. Film slows you down, and always has a different feel to digital photography. It’s like Christmas waiting to see what develops from each roll. Oliver, BC, October 15, 2026.
