Sandhill Cranes flying south Sept 1, 2026 over Oliver, BC. They can travel up to 400 miles in a single day. They fly between 5000 and 15,000 feet above sea level, which is why they are hard to spot sometimes. The earliest Sandhill Crane fossil is estimated to be 2.5 million years old.
