I get asked often if I’ll do shoots on the water. And while I will if it’s absolutely a necessity - I prefer not to. A Kelowna photographer who doesn’t shoot on Okanagan Lake? How is that possible? Well, it’s a me thing. I struggle with shooting with the reflection of the sun beating down on the water creating a huge bright white space on the lake with the way I shoot. I envy other photographers who can work around it but I have a hard time. But this location? Absolutely a workaround because the sun goes down behind some trees and I’m not shooting facing the water the whole time. Perfection for me. If you can ignore the geese and goose p**p - it’s my kinda beach location! We all know how I love my fields with trees to filter the sun, and this spot offers that!

Golden hour, wildflowers, and kids doing their thing… nothing forced, nothing perfect, just them.
