Fascinated with the complexity of patterns, shapes and colours present in the natural world. That fascination began as a child during weekly trips to the Provincial Museum (now called the Royal British Columbia Museum) and tide pooling on Vancouver Island.

Finally taking the plunge into Medium and Large format film photography. I’ve been putting it off for far too long. So I’ve ordered some film to kickstart my journey.

Reworked a few older photos today. I'm much happier with these versions.

Saw this awesome scene on my walk yesterday. It’s beginning to feel a lot like Autumn! Nothing like a little refreshing rain to help clear the air of the wildfire smoke we have all been experiencing this year.

Two versions of the same capture.

The first is the jpg with a bit of tweaking in Snapseed. The second one is the Raw file developed in Affinity Photo, Lightroom and Color Efex Pro.

The jpg is useable, but the Raw file allows you to pull more detail from the shadows without getting too noisy.

I may reprocess the jpg version to see if I can get it to match the processed Raw version.
