I like to call our first full day in Ofena "the buttering up phase" or the calm before the harvest. Angelo Delfino treated us to a delicious and PLENTIFUL meal at a local restaurant. The following day we toured the Abruzzo countryside, and stopped to have some arrosticini, and wine at a roadside restaurant in the middle of nowhere. We finished the day watching the sunset from an abandoned castle while I flew my drone to capture the stunning views. Watching the video to the end will be worth that footage alone.

Not all trips to Italy are created equal, and our last trip might have been the most unusual. What we thought was going to be a romantic experience spending time in olive groves leisurely picking olives turned out to be anything but. Here is the first instalment of that experience as I tried to capture the nuances of not only the harvest, but of the small town in Abruzzo, Ofena, and the owners of the olive groves, Adriana and Angelo Delfino.

I have had the privilege of working on this project since it was literally a blank canvas, or rather, a blank piece of land. The details, the craftsmanship, and the location make this another one of a kind custom home by As the project gets nearer, and nearer completion, I am very excited to see it taking shape, and am looking forward to seeing what it will eventually become.
