A little Frontenac Photography health update... because apparently my uterus believes in dramatic exits.

A few days ago, what started as a disagreement between myself and my uterus escalated rather quickly. There was an ambulance ride, a very effective neighbourhood-wide panic, and enough concern from family and friends that I should probably issue an official statement.

The short version?

My uterus decided it was done with our toxic relationship and attempted to leave. Unfortunately, instead of packing its bags and moving out, it pancaked itself onto my spine.

As one does.

This resulted in a completely unnecessary and temporary loss of leg strength and mobility, a 4.5-day hospital stay, and a reminder that my uterus has apparently never learned healthy conflict resolution skills.

There was also an infection involved somewhere in this story, but honestly, we're not close enough for that level of detail.

The good news is that things have settled down. My uterus and I have agreed to remain civil until our official separation later this year. Until then, we are co-existing with very clear boundaries.

I have been slowly reaching out to any clients who may have been affected by this unexpected hospital stay. If you were waiting to hear from me and haven't yet, please send me a message. I promise I haven't forgotten about you—I was simply busy convincing my reproductive organs that mutiny was not an appropriate coping mechanism.

Thank you to everyone who checked in, sent messages, helped with my kiddos, or offered support. It means more than you know.

Now if you'll excuse me, I have editing to do and a uterus that is no longer allowed to make any major life decisions without supervision 💚

Not to toot my own horn but… toot toot 🚂🤍
Somehow galleries around here have been leaving my editing cave and landing in client inboxes in anywhere from 18 hours to 4 days lately.

At this point I’m honestly starting to think my laptop is running purely on iced coffee, emotional support playlists, and the fear of falling behind 😂

Meanwhile my clients are out here expecting a “few sneak peeks” and getting:
✨ full galleries
✨ emotional damage
✨ and an identity crisis because “why do we actually look like a Pinterest family?”

Truthfully though… I know how exciting it is to relive these moments. Whether it’s the tiny newborn details, chaotic toddler giggles, quiet maternity moments, or your favourite person making you laugh until you snort — I never want you waiting forever to hold onto those memories 🤍

If you’ve been thinking about booking a session for this season, this is your little sign ✨
Come as you are, I’ll take care of the rest.

Today is — a day that sits incredibly close to my family’s heart. ❤️
We’ve all seen the Ronald McDonald House ads before…
the kitchens, the dining spaces, the family rooms, the play areas, the school and summer camp spaces for siblings of sick children.
But the truth is… no one ever thinks they’ll need to stay at one.
Until suddenly, you do.
My husband, myself, and our family stayed at the Toronto Ronald McDonald House when our son was being treated for his life-threatening heart condition — a condition that required full open-heart double bypass surgery at just 6 days old.
At the time, everything felt heavy. Uncertain. Exhausting in ways I still struggle to put into words.
And while Ronald McDonald House gave us a place to sleep close to the hospital… they gave us so much more than that.
One thing that has stayed with me all these years later was something so seemingly small: snack bags.
Staff and volunteers would put together little bags filled with snacks and set them near the entryway for parents and loved ones heading out the door to sit beside their child’s hospital bed.
I can tell you from experience — for many parents, those little bags were the only things they would eat all day before returning late at night emotionally and physically drained.
That’s the part people don’t always see.
The care.
The thoughtfulness.
The understanding of what families truly need when they’re simply trying to survive the hardest days of their lives.
So today, I ask you to support McHappy Day in any way you can.
Grab a coffee. A treat. Donate online if you’re able.
And if budgets are tight right now — because I know they are for so many families — even sharing Ronald McDonald House posts helps more than you know.
Every small act of support helps families like mine stay close to the people they love most during unimaginable moments.
Thank you for supporting families like ours. ❤️💛❤️💛

Not every season makes room for everything we want — and I understand that.
If photography isn’t in your budget right now, but you still feel that pull to have your moments documented, you’re always welcome to reach out.
From time to time, I open space for service-for-service exchanges when it feels like a genuine fit for both sides.
It isn’t something I offer regularly, and it has to feel aligned — but I believe in connection, community, and finding ways to make meaningful things happen.
If you have something in mind, I’d love to hear it 💚

May always carries so many emotions.
For some, it’s a season of celebrating motherhood…
for others, it can feel heavy, complicated, or quietly painful.
To the ones longing to be mothers,
to the ones who have experienced loss,
to those walking alongside someone in that space —
you are so deeply held in my heart.
I see you. I’m thinking of you. And over these next few weeks, I hope you give yourself permission to take care of you — whether that looks like stepping back from social media, leaning on someone you trust, or simply taking things one moment at a time.
And if you ever feel like you don’t have someone to talk to… my inbox is always open 🤍
For those in a season of celebration — growing, holding, loving — I would be honoured to document it for you.
✨ May Motherhood Sessions are now 45% off

Weekends like this are the ones that fill your Heart 💚
Paint-covered little hands, quiet snuggles, giggles that filled the room — the kind of moments that don’t ask for perfection, just presence. Watching mamas and their littles create together, getting a little messy and a lot connected… it’s something really special to witness.
And tucked in between it all, the sweetest newborn session — slow, gentle, and full of that brand new kind of love that makes everything else fade for a moment.
This afternoon it’s a rainy and gross outside, the studio is a little quieter, and I’m here editing it all back to life — holding onto the way it felt just as much as how it looked.
If you’ve been thinking about a Paint With Me session, you still can!!!! I grabbed supplies in bulk, so there’s a little more room to create together 💚📸

I cannot wait to see all the magical moments today 💚

04/07/2026

There’s a stage of motherhood where everything feels a little messy…
paint on tiny hands, giggles that come out of nowhere, moments that don’t last nearly long enough.

This was created for that.

Not for perfect photos.
Not for perfectly behaved kiddos.

But for the in-between —
the laughter, the curiosity, the way they reach for you without thinking.

You’ll sit together, create together,
and let it unfold however it’s meant to.

And somewhere in the middle of it all,
you’ll realize you’re not just making art…
you’re holding onto a moment that’s already changing.

You’ll leave with both the memories and something real you made side by side.

If your little one wants to dive right in or hang back and take it slow —
that’s exactly how this is meant to feel.

I’m only opening a small number of these to keep each one unhurried and intentional 🤍

If this feels like something you don’t want to miss,
you can reach out anytime — I’d love to create this with you.
