Shooting landscapes that feature the stars as background or some epic meteor shower event and of course, aurora borealis-hunting are some of the adventures that my hubby and I can't live without. It makes my mind calm but alert at the same time. Even though it takes a lot of technical preparation, research, patience, problem solving (in pitch-black!) and sometimes, frostbite, it's ultimately worth all the challenges experienced along the way.

However, it can be frustrating sometimes when nature is not on your side especially if there's a once in a lifetime event that you can't capture because of the thick clouds or some other crappy factors. And that's when I learn a lot about dedication, TONS of patience, resilience and focus. To clarify, I'm not talking about deep space photography here but who knows, maybe in the future! :)

I had an opportunity to photograph this beautiful family this morning in a lovely fall setting. We also did a newborn session in my studio for their charming little princess, Aelynn. The weather was perfect! Thank you Rob and Nichole Legacy for this wonderful honor of capturing your family's important milestone. It was amazing to meet such lovely people in the military community!

I couldn't be happier with the results of this maternity session for my French teacher turned friend, Vicky. ♥

It was a beautiful experience creating a milk bath shoot. Challenging nonetheless but so worth the time and effort. I mean look at her! So radiant, calm and gorgeous.

The late afternoon light was perfect as well. Vicky and her amazing partner, Vincent were such troopers. I am extremely in love with every single image.

Maternity photos are so worth doing, make sure you plan and invest in those. It’s a unique moment in life that you will never be able to reproduce again.

So happy for this couple and can't wait to do their newborn/family session next! :)
