I received my very first camera when I was 6-7 years old as a Christmas present.
I remember lining up and posing my dolls and stuffed animals for my photos that same day, and just like that, I was hooked.
From then on, friends and family stopped bringing their cameras to special events because they knew I would be there with mine, snapping every special moment.
Photography is not just my hobby, it’s my passion.
It’s the only thing, other than running, that completely shuts off my brain, and lets me be in the moment.
My anxiety, my depression, my OCD, and my ADHD, all take a back seat when I’m shooting or editing a photo session.
I’ve had to set alarms when editing to make sure that I don’t stay up all night until the sun comes up. I lose track of time and completely relax.
I have taught myself through the miraculous teacher that is YouTube, and still have SO much to learn.
My goal has always been to EVOKE EMOTION.
Every once in a while, I capture a moment in time, that I am so proud of. When you feel like you’re right there, in that exact moment.
This is one such moment.
These two parents’ happiness was tangible.
I still have so much to learn about photography. But pictures like these make me feel like I am headed in the right direction ❤️
