This is us.

This is where we live. This is where you're safe. This is what I've built for you.

To a grand parent, it must be the greatest joy to hold the next generation, to share their love and wisdom, to show them the corner of the world they have worked hard to build. At the same time, to show off their newest family member, to present to the world the fruit of their labour.
I can only imagine how proud my mother must have been to hold my baby boy and to show him to the world. I only hope she's still proud of how we are and what we're becoming. She was lost to us two years ago today. She will forever live in our hearts and fortunately thousands of pictures, videos and stories to tell 😊

For some extra wisdom, as a nurse, my mother would tell you to wash your hands and stay safe in the face of the current epidemic! Loving each other is the key to beat this together!

Happy V Day! Cake for everybody. Whether you're single, married or just living a FREE LOVIN' LIFE with freaky people, you deserved all the attention, appreciation, admiration, adoration and ANIMAL ATTRACTION! You can definitely have the cake and eat it too. Says you! If you don't think you can or not living how you deserve? Change it. NO ONE OWNS YOU and you don't owe anyone anything. So go find someone to eat cake with!

My brilliant boy turns 3 today! According to him he's a big boy now, and he's Darth Vader. Here, he's just started to learn how to throw things. He has certainly been trying for a long time, now he's becoming accurate with force and trajectory. It is honestly scary when he throws his toys at me. We were walking back from the park on a lovely fall day and the leaves hadn't been cleared. A perfect opportunity to get some action shots! I asked him to toss these leaves, just a few times but he complained the whole time lol. What a diva already. I got a few good shots, but this one is the funniest. Have a great birthday, my love. I wish for all the happiness in the world for you. Stay healthy. .

View from my crib

Although the polar vortex didn't extend to the west coast, we still had a brief cold snap. -7c may not be that cold to the rest of Canada, and some parts of the US, but it's still chilly for us living in a temperate rainforest. Enough complaining. The slight frost certainly made the view much more interesting. It looks like we live in some ski lodge or a mountain chateau and get to ride the trails every day. Wouldn't that be the life. Stay warm, friends!

This is my mother meeting my boy for the first time. The chemistry was instantaneous. They spent just about 2 years growing their love for each other.
Fast forward to this day last year, I received a piece of news that would change our lives forever. In a group chat with relatives overseas, I was notified that my mother has been put into intensive care. She had severe breathing difficulties and required a ventilator. For weeks she suffered in absolute silence until her untimely demise. Because she couldn't communicate, we never heard her last words. That is perhaps the saddest part of this tragedy to me. Only guessing at what she'd have said. My son still remembers her fondly, but how long will the feelings last? No one knows. So if you're still reading this, say what needs to be said and make peace whenever wherever you can. Even the purest, most precious love is not immortal. .

This is my baby carrying our baby just about 3 years ago in the tropical paradise that is Hawaii. As a bday gift for herself, she's back in Hawaii for a much deserved vacation. Jealousy does not even begin to describe my feelings towards this. However, I do wish her another wonderful bday and am happy she's spending it with her oldest and bestest friend. For now, her magnificent little boy and I miss her very much, and cannot wait to facetime 😄❤️🎂🎉

Once upon a time at in Gibsons BC. I was trying to capture the STARRY NIGHT and the northern lights while a few party people wanted to wander the dock. I said why not, thinking this shot would probably be RUINED but it turned out to be more than a pleasant surprise!!! My new friend was a witness, if he remembered that is. Lol.
