When I take pictures, I don’t consider it as work, I’m having a blast! If your looking for a photographer that will be unnoticed and in the background, I am not your guy. Wedding season 2026: Hard Launch

We are starting the season a bit early this year with an April wedding, and I’m all in for it!

2026 is now completely sold out and we kicked things off with two amazing people yesterday: Zeina & Shawn ❤️

Things clicked right away on our first call together, and although we met for the first time in person yesterday, it felt like we knew each other for a long time.

That connection helped in making things flow super smoothly throughout the day, and the creation of perfectly candid photos.

Cant wait to share more, of this wedding, and everything else 2026 has in store!

🏆 EXPRESSION AWARD 🏆

Every year, I take pictures of thousands upon thousands of people.

Through all of those interactions, I get a variety of expressions in front of my lens and there are always a few that stand out.  Either as they are funny, goofy, dramatic or completely unfiltered.  Here’s a small selection of some of the most memorable facial expressions I captured in 2025.

🏆 THE WTF AWARD 🏆

Some moments at weddings can’t be scripted, and this one absolutely topped it off 😂

The groomsmen at this wedding wanted to make an entrance, and an entrance they sure made.

Suits, ponchos, water guns… and a plan that was clearly thought through.

Not exactly what you expect during a grand entrance, but that’s precisely what made it unforgettable.

Pure chaos, pure fun, and a room full of people losing it.

PS. WTF stands for Watering The Family Award, obviously. 💦😅

🏆 THE “GIFT” AWARD 🏆

Given it’s Christmas, I wanted an award that fit the theme and landed on the idea of gifting. 🎁

Now, I can’t say that being iced truly counts as receiving a gift, but it’s close enough. 😉

For those unfamiliar, “getting iced” is a prank where someone is surprised with a Smirnoff Ice and must immediately drop to one knee and drink it. No refusals allowed.

In this case, the bride hid the bottles under her dress and, during the reveal with the groomsmen, unveiled this little surprise.

Safe to say, it was good fun and got a big laugh.

🏆 ALL THE FEELS AWARD 🏆

It’s always special to document a father-daughter reveal.

The moment where the bride’s dad sees his little girl in her wedding dress for the first time on her wedding day.

We never really know what to expect when it takes place, but having the chance to capture such an emotional expression is rather rare.

The pictures speak for themselves for the emotion of the moment, and even if you weren’t there, you can feel the energy that was in the room.

🏆 LOTR AWARD 🏆

I know there are plenty of Lord of the Rings fans out there and some might be a little jealous of this one.

You might think you need to travel all the way to the Shire (or fly all the way to New Zealand) to visit Hobbiton, but this couple found a Hobbit home right here in Quebec and made sure to include it in their wedding photos.

A pretty unique setting for wedding pictures, even Sam and Rose would be impressed.

🏆 FAVORITE LENS AWARD 🏆

This award is dedicated to a piece of gear that I tried to make more use of this year and so happy that I did.  I think other photographers will be able to relate to this one…  My favorite lens of 2025 goes to my Canon RF 85mm f/1.2

This lens is pure magic… 🪄

It gives the perfect amount of compression and creates the most pleasing images when wide open at 1.2 with tack sharp details and creamy bokeh in the background.
 I mean, at 4000$ for a lens, you would hope it’s good. 😅

From couple portraits, to being able to capture guest reactions during the ceremony or at the reception, it has become a lens that is always at the ready for every wedding.

🏆 CREATIVE CONCEPT AWARD 🏆

The second award goes to this photoshoot with the groom, tying in his passion for golf into his wedding day alongside his groomsmen.
 During our preparation calls leading up to his wedding, he mentioned how big a role golf plays in his life. I suggested he bring his clubs and a few balls so we could capture some fun, creative shots of him swinging in a tux.

One image I had in mind from the start was a golf ball marked with his and his wife’s initials, caught mid-air just after being hit off the face of the club.  Because let’s be honest, it’s not every day you get to wear a suit and play the sports you love. And it makes for some pretty great photos 😉

🏆 BEST DRESS(ES) AWARD 🏆

Here we go with the 2025 edition of the End-of-Year Awards - my annual tradition looking back at some of my best photos of the year.

From now until the 31st, I’ll be awarding 10 awards to couples, moments, or elements from weddings this year that truly stood out.

Kicking things off with our first award, going to a bride who wore not one, not two, but FIVE dresses on her wedding day.

This was the first Algerian wedding we had the pleasure of documenting. As tradition would have it, the bride changes into several outfits throughout the evening as part of a custom called tasdira.

Each dress carried a specific meaning. One represented her parents’ village, another honored where the groom’s parents are from, one was a traditional Berber dress, and one was the classic white wedding gown. Each look marked a different moment of the celebration and symbolized the union of two families and cultures.

Every dress was beautiful in its own way, and it was a real privilege to document it all and discover another culture’s wedding traditions.

2025… that’s a wrap. And what a year it’s been. 🥂

I’m excited to share that all photo galleries and films have officially been delivered (🍾🍾🍾) just in time to be enjoyed over the holidays with family, friends, and maybe a few happy tears along the way.

As we close out the year, I’m filled with gratitude for every couple who trusted us to document one of the most meaningful days of their lives.

Thank you for welcoming us in, for your trust, and for making this work such a joy to do.

And in other news… tomorrow kicks off the 2025 End-of-Year Awards 🏆

Year three, and still one of my favorite traditions. I’ll be sharing some of my favorite images of the year, along with the stories behind them.
