Hello and welcome!

For those of you who may not know who I am, let me introduce myself!

First off, my name is Jessica! I grew up in Picture Butte, AB, but have lived in Lethbridge, AB for around 7 years. I received my Bachelor of Fine Arts in Art Studio from the University of Lethbridge in 2020, and I'm going back to complete an Art History/Museum Studies degree this fall. I am an avid tea drinker, day-dreamer, and if you have a dog, I will pet it. My favourite colour is pink, but sometimes black, but also grey on occasion. I live for rainy Mondays and when I'm not working at Pandora or going to school I'm sure to be keeping busy with something - picking up a new hobby, reading a forgotten book, and tending to my villagers in Animal Crossing name just a few.

My love for photography started when I was teen. My high school had a photography class that allowed you to rent out cameras to use if you couldn't afford your own, and that's just what I did. I loved capturing landscapes and nature, from the ladybugs and dewdrops in my mom's garden to the towering heights of the Rockies we camped in - I wanted to capture it all. My parents purchased my first camera, the Canon Rebel T1i, around my sixteenth birthday. Ten years later, it's the camera I still use today! And while my camera hasn't changed over the years, my subject matter has.

Photographing people intrigues me more than anything now. Meeting people and discovering their true light within - it's just magic. We can dress up, smile for the shot and get that perfect photo for Instagram, but it's those fleeting moments of realness that I long for. A person gushing about their hidden passions. Another overcoming their insecurities. People living their best, truest lives. These are the kind of moments I want to share.

Outside of this, I love trying to capture the overlooked and unseen aspects of daily life.

I look forward to seeing what this year conjures up for me. If I have any model calls or ideas, I'll be sure to post something up for grabs that you can get in on if you are interested.
