As the days get shorter and the weather gets colder I thought this fit the mood.

Believe it or not this was actually taken during the day! A flash and creative editing can achieve quite a lot!

You might never have known this was taken at the Calgary Zoo where they give a home to many injured birds that can't be released back into the wild for various reasons. This zoo is also recognized for its efforts in rehabilitation efforts for many endangered species and their focus on ensuring the animals they care for have plenty of enrichment to keep them happy and healthy. If you are ever in the area it is well worth planning a stop!

The Historical Armored Combat Sports Association just had its International Medieval Combat Federation Team Canada qualifiers in Calgary. Fighters from all over came to compete, the winners having the opportunity to represent Canada at the World Competition in Texas later this year!

Congratulations to the medal winners! I'm sorry I don't remember all of your names, if you could please tag a fighter you recognize I would greatly appreciate it.

Sorry its been a hot minute since my last post, I should have more to post shortly but currently I'm fighting with my software, apparently my computer hates me.

Anyways, here's an owl! Horned owl with I think a duck for dinner. There were several owlets in the surrounding trees nearly fledged. Super cool to hang out and watch them do their thing for a bit!

The lighting was kind of rough, fast action and long zooms etc. maybe I'll take another stab at editing it later when I'm not nearly as busy fighting with my PC.

Just a quick one, perhaps the most photogenic mountain sheep I've ever seen. I can just imagine this guy photobombing being like "hey you guys!" lol. Its so derpy and fluffy and I love it.

Bighorn Sheep are typically remembered by the large curling horns the males (rams) grow. These horns can weigh up to around 30lbs! The females (ewes, seen here) grow smaller less curly horns. They can be found across the rocky mountains and western United States.
