Furys Eye Photography I like to shoot things, with a Canon Don't forget to check out his page where the good stuff is!!! https://www.facebook.com/PileotPhotography

Always loved photography- dabbled for years, using film, then a digital Canon Powershot until it died, at which point I bought a Nikon that I only had for a few months before someone stole it out of my car, I was salty it was stolen but I hated that camera compared to my Canon so it wasn't the worst thing that happened I was just out the financial value of the silly thing .... then I simply starte

d using my cell phone once the camera technology got to the point photos looked better than potato quality. Work obligations and relationships kept me from following up and learning and doing much in the way of photography, other than dabbling- I was a long haul trucker for over 14 years, after which I moved on to operating heavy equipment, then I got injured and was forced to stop driving heavy machinery, who knows where I will go now. I found the love of my life 4 years ago, and he is a photographer (he had a photo of him taking photos on his dating profile and I was interested!)- and ta da I have a mentor to assist me on my photographic journey- He bought me a Canon and loaned me some lenses and off to the races I go.... I'm new, I'm learning, and I'm pushing myself to take shoots in all sorts of conditions. The Camera body I have now has some limitations that I've noticed already (low light performance, memory buffer), but it takes beautiful photos and I'm very grateful he thought of me and got it so we can enjoy this hobby together- already we have had instances where we have had to use my photos as a 'second shooter' because he was unsatisfied with his. I'm absolutely convinced none of my photos are really that great- especially compared to the quality my fiancée takes- but I'm getting there slowly, and looking at my shoots after some time goes by I realize my pictures aren't that bad at all, especially compared with some,.

Photos from the 2025 Red Deer Rumble! These are mostly photos of our team The Company of the Black Spears.

Do not crop off watermarks, edit the photos or otherwise change them please! These photos are posted in a lower resolution to help discourage unauthorized use. If you want a custom crop or edit, let me know and I'll send you one tailor fit to your needs. If you do not I will block you from my page, and you won't be able to enjoy the memories.

Please support my work by sharing and giving credit. Thank you!!! And thanks to all my followers who have messaged me love, and shared my pictures! And as always, if you want a high resolution photo, or package of photos let me know and we can haggle on a price and package- purchased photos are all watermark free and high res.

Rough job being a marshal for a medieval fight!!! You're the squishiest thing in the ring with metal swords, axes, maces, and more!

I'm working on photos from the most recent event we went to the Red Deer Rumble, hosted by the Red Deer Reavers

I won't be posting a huge album like previously due to people using photos without giving credit, and cropping off watermarks- it takes me literally hundreds of hours to take, process and post photos. This event alone cost $400+ in rooms, food and travel. I don't mind taking photos for free, I just would like if you can like my page, tag me in the photos and if you need a custom size for profile pics ask me to make one up. Just support my work in some way! If you purchase photos, you will get a link to high res photos, with no watermark that you can use in any way that pleases you.

If you were in the event and would like me to send you some photos let me know, and I will see if I can hook you up with some great shots.

What feels like a long long time ago I approached Brian, team Captain of The Company of the Black Spears - HACSA's Lethbridge Medieval Combat Team and asked if we (Pileot Photography and myself) could go take photos of their practices. Brian in his awesome open and enthusiastic way welcomed us into the 'Spears' and the rest is history. We started taking a lot of pictures and then Jon put down the camera and started swinging long sword too. I've also put my hand in and I tell you what, it's an awesome sport that's incredibly taxing physically at a level that most people can't even imagine. And Fun. Insanely fun.

My last post ruffled a few feathers!✌️ To offer clarity read on!!

I do want you all to know I love when you share photos, and use them as profile pics and more, it's a deep compliment and I'm tickled pink when you all share and like. I cannot say enough about how fantastic the majority of the community is - Honorable both in the 'ring' and in real life. (at least one of you has used photos I took as a profile photo, and how cool is that??? SUPER COOL)

It's been a real small group of people that abused the privilege, 90% of you have been amazing!

Again, if you see me at a tourney and want me to take some good shots of you specifically let me know and I'll do my best and inbox them to you. Photos on Facebook are reduced quality, and usually it doesn't matter if you are using the photo for Instagram or social media. Most people are doom scrolling on phones and never notice the difference or the small details.

If you purchase any photos I will remove the watermark, send you a link for the high quality large image (which is printable in virtually any size), and you can do pretty much anything you want with them as they are yours. If you are buying just a photo, it's pretty affordable even after having bought armor LOL.

Recently, I've gone through and deleted some albums or most of the photos in some albums due to people taking my photos and cropping off the watermarks, doing their own edits, or otherwise copying and not giving credit to the photographer (me)

Guys, I have been taking photos of these events for free. I've been posting these photos for all to use and see, without cost to you - all I ask is that you *do not crop off the watermark*. If you need a custom size or crop due to Instagram or Facebook - ASK ME and I will provide the ideal image. If you purchase the image, then I will remove the watermark entirely and you can use the image in whatever way makes you happy.

Because of the amount of people taking, copying and reposting my work without credit I'm pulling down albums- and if there is one you really like let me know, I can send you a copy of the image if YOU GIVE CREDIT where credit is due.

While I don't claim my photos are amazing, they are quality work and it's been previously free to everyone, again, all I asked is for credit. Moving forward I'll only be posting photos mainly of our local team due to the abuse of the privilege. If you want me to take photos of you in a tournament, let me know and I can work on taking some good shots.
.... The Reason.......

I spend literally hundreds of hours on these photos, taking, processing and editing photos of these events without being paid for doing it. Many of these events, I'll take 3000+ photos, and I sift through all of them to find the clearest shot, of the best action and then I edit colour, exposure, focal point and more to best capture the action, emotion and feel of these fights. This often takes a week or more of post processing time at my computer.

While I understand everyone can take what appears to be really great photos with their phone what many don't realize is the phone does a bunch of post processing automatically. With professional photography the photographer has control over these type of edits with the help of costly software, it's why different photographers have different portfolios indicative of their 'style' (think the breezy look of some wedding photographers, the saturated and crisp look of nature photos) Photography equipment is costly, time is costly, the software, the computer is all costly. The photos taken with professional equipment has better image quality than what you normally get with a phone camera- this means you can take photos from a photographer and print them in super large sizes while maintaining that clear crisp quality you see in the small image.

Photography is an art, even if it appears to be a simple matter of pushing the shutter button to the uninitiated. ⚜️

I had to take photos of the beast because he's been certified as a full Service Dog and the trainers needed good photos of him- I took a handful, it was insanely hot out but I especially like how this one turned out and I cannot even explain why.
