Recently, I've gone through and deleted some albums or most of the photos in some albums due to people taking my photos and cropping off the watermarks, doing their own edits, or otherwise copying and not giving credit to the photographer (me)
Guys, I have been taking photos of these events for free. I've been posting these photos for all to use and see, without cost to you - all I ask is that you *do not crop off the watermark*. If you need a custom size or crop due to Instagram or Facebook - ASK ME and I will provide the ideal image. If you purchase the image, then I will remove the watermark entirely and you can use the image in whatever way makes you happy.
Because of the amount of people taking, copying and reposting my work without credit I'm pulling down albums- and if there is one you really like let me know, I can send you a copy of the image if YOU GIVE CREDIT where credit is due.
While I don't claim my photos are amazing, they are quality work and it's been previously free to everyone, again, all I asked is for credit. Moving forward I'll only be posting photos mainly of our local team due to the abuse of the privilege. If you want me to take photos of you in a tournament, let me know and I can work on taking some good shots.
.... The Reason.......
I spend literally hundreds of hours on these photos, taking, processing and editing photos of these events without being paid for doing it. Many of these events, I'll take 3000+ photos, and I sift through all of them to find the clearest shot, of the best action and then I edit colour, exposure, focal point and more to best capture the action, emotion and feel of these fights. This often takes a week or more of post processing time at my computer.
While I understand everyone can take what appears to be really great photos with their phone what many don't realize is the phone does a bunch of post processing automatically. With professional photography the photographer has control over these type of edits with the help of costly software, it's why different photographers have different portfolios indicative of their 'style' (think the breezy look of some wedding photographers, the saturated and crisp look of nature photos) Photography equipment is costly, time is costly, the software, the computer is all costly. The photos taken with professional equipment has better image quality than what you normally get with a phone camera- this means you can take photos from a photographer and print them in super large sizes while maintaining that clear crisp quality you see in the small image.
Photography is an art, even if it appears to be a simple matter of pushing the shutter button to the uninitiated. ⚜️
