Who said groups need to be boring?

I always take a mix of natural and candid group photos - because who doesn’t want some un-posed photos with their faves?

TIPS FROM A FLORIST
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Are you having an autumnal wedding, like the one above?
Here are some of Elizabeth's from tips for keeping it eco-conscious by sourcing locally grown florals:
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
"Scotland has lots of beautiful flowers still blooming into Autumn, such as dahlias (which come in a wide array of colours and textures), rudbeckia, cosmos, amaranthus, strawflower, kniphofia, asters & chrysanthemums.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
This wedding included many of these blooms(dahlias, rudbeckia, cosmos, strawflower) and I sourced these from a local grower in the Highlands."
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
The cost of florals will be significantly more if they have to be flown in from overseas, so by keeping it local you help keep the carbon footprint down, support local businesses, and save a penny, too :)

It’s a rainy spring day today, with sun poking in and out, and I’m missing Scotland! So here’s a throwback to a blustery but incredible day at

Contrary to belief, rain on your wedding day can look INCREDIBLE, by the way! Clear umbrellas are a life saver and I’m always up for a mid-day shower 😉

HEY THERE!

How’s your 2022 goin’? For me, I’ve blinked and it’s nearly April, so there’s that.

Anywho, how flipping cute are Catarina + Danny from the .ca wedding last August?!

HAPPY NEW YEAR // NEWLY ENGAGED? READ ME 👇

Fingers crossed for a more pleasant year, right?
‘Tis the season for engagements (and what a great way to start off a new year and chapter in your life), and for those who aren’t well versed in the wedding world, I’ve put together a handy blog all about HOW TO FIND YOUR WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHER

It’s short, straight to the point, and in the post you’ll find how/what key search terms to use, a breakdown of editing and shooting styles as well as examples of all.

I’ll start here with my style;
Documentary, emotive and real. I capture your day as it happens, without contriving moments that aren’t “you”. Each couple is unique in the way they express themselves, so no two galleries are ever the same.
Some couples are outgoing + badass and want their photos to reflect that; others are more laidback and want their photos to show the closeness they have with their family and friends (and everything in between).

Blog is linked in my bio!

Sessions should be fun, right?
Mementos to a time in your life where you’re celebrating yourselves, not posing endlessly or awkwardly because it’s something you think you have to do.

I love engagement/couples sessions! What I don’t love is going to a nearby park and getting the same holding-hands-smiling-at-the-camera photo over and over.
I encourage my couples to pick a spot that either means something to them, or is fun/adventurous/interesting. We’ll explore, get cool images and have a fun time while doing it.

TIP - bring some flats to change into!
I’m a big fan of going off-piste for portraits - because who wants the same photos as every other couple? Sometimes we walk through a field or two, so some trek-able shoes are always a wise choice (Unless you’re adventurous like Michaela who rocked fields in heels)

On the day I scout a handful of locations, and depending on the lighting, I’ll choose the *chefs kiss* best spot 🤌
This could be anywhere from inside/the venue grounds, or slightly off grounds (but never super far, unless that’s your jam!)

How to have a carefree wedding day

Hire suppliers you trust! Being able to confidently hand over the reins means you can relax and be fully present to celebrate with your loved ones.
Build a timeline that will give you ample room to eat, drink, and chat whilst getting all the important photos and moments captured.
I love working with my couples to give helpful tips that I’ve gathered over the years; from confetti, timelines, groups etc.
One of my biggest tips is to allocate at least 15 extra minutes more than you think you’ll need during transition times! No one should have to rush on their wedding day, right?

Wedding of Gillian + Matt I associate shot for at , one of my fave days!
