It's been some time, but I am here now, and looking forward to shooting again. I have been focusing on my career as an EA at a High School in Lindsay, which I have been loving every minute of. With that said, I've got nothing going on in the summer months, and well, I miss getting creative and photographing, haha.

Let me re-introduce myself. Formerly Pixie Photography, I have decided to update my business name to something that speaks to my heart presently. And so, welcome to Eileen Dawn Photography.

My name is Ashley Eileen Dawn Hogan. Eileen Dawn are my given middle names obviously, lol. Their meaning far exceeds that and I desire to honour those names by capturing beautiful moments photographing YOU! Eileen is named after my Grandmother, who's memory I carry dearly in my heart, with which comforts me like a soft blanket as I wind through life's many trails.

The name Dawn, given to me by my dear Mother, speaks to my soul. It is the light after the dark, the rise of a new day, the beauty of this Earth we live on, and the faith that we are never alone, but in truth connected.

I hope you enjoy what I've got going on, and would love to reconnect given the chance. As far as location goes, I will be shooting here in the Kawartha's where I am located now, but wouldn't mind heading back to Durham for my first lovelies to say hello, or should I say, STINKY CHEESE! :)

Meet Wyatt everyone! This sweet new boys mama and I have been friends for many years. I am so happy for her and her family to welcome this healthy beautiful boy into their lives (and mine ;) He was 7 days old when they came to see me for his newborn photos. Did you know? Newborn photos are my favorite to photograph! AND.. I currently have an in home studio space to work with which is sooo exciting for me and something I have dreamed of doing for years. All of these images were taken in my new studio right at home.

The day I met Truly Medium was a day of sorts you could say. It was you know, "one of those days" where the universe just wants to play baseball and you don't wanna. My brand NEW camera went on the fritz and decided it was only going to focus where IT wanted to focus. The lampost JUST didn't come on that night for Trulys OUTDOOR evening event. I dared not use my flash in such a sacred ceremony of gathered woman. After already having a roll with the punches day I just surrendered to it.
I bathed in the darkness, with only a sparse star here and there and a half moon so bright and took a photo here and there using the glow of a lantern.
I surrendered to the universe that day and I tell you it made me nervous.
I had Chills going through her photos. I could see orbs and auras in her photos. There was a darkness I felt going through them that was so beautiful but at the same time a lightness that felt freeing. Colours invisible to the naked eye in the dark, yet there all around us.
That's the amazing thing about the universe; it always gives you what you need to learn and grow.

Tracey is a reiki practicioner in the Druham region. Reiki is a form of alternative medicine called energy healing. She also has ongoing group meditations and offers smudging services. Meditation and alternative healing has been introduced to me in the past year and I can't say enough amazing things about the emotional and physical benefits. Shay Ren was the sweetest, squishiest, posy baby. He made my heart swell. Newborn photography has to be my favourite!! and it's not very hard to tell why!! Look at this little dude!!!
