Real rock, the way it’s meant to be climbed…

During a camping trip to Tobermory, we had the chance to hike a portion of the Bruce Trail and witness some of the beautiful limestone cliffs in Lion’s Head Provincial Park. During the hike, we came across some climbers who were tackling some routes on Ontario’s own “Mini Yosemite.” There’s a ton of skill needed to complete these sport and trad routes in Lion’s Head, especially since they contain some of Ontario’s biggest walls. Super stoked to get some talented climbers in their element! (If you recognize yourself, feel free to let me know and I’ll give you a tag!)

I’ve been working on this project for a long time and I can’t wait to share it with you!
Just under a year ago, I partnered with to print the story of an adventure to South America that set me on the photography journey that I’m on today.

This wouldn’t be possible if it wasn’t for the support of family and friends like and , along with the words and inspiration from that have pushed my creativity to take on the role of story teller as I share the events of a trip that changed my life forever...

To read more of the story, head over to the link in my description and enter “FREETHISWINTER” to download your very own copy of the article for free!

A special thanks goes out to .arcteryx.niagara for the gear and inspiration to pull off this trip of a lifetime! Looking forward to heading down to Patagonia again to pick up where we left off ⚡️🤙🏼

A lone tree on a moody December morning...

On a cold and wet December morning, we awoke to a moody fog that seemed to blanket the farmhouse we were staying. As the day progressed, the fog started to lift but still hung around the forest in the background. Bad and moody weather always makes for a better photo and this was no exception. This one took a little light editing to get it to where I wanted it to be but the colour and composition just fit from the start!

Summer nights...

Looking forward to drives in the country during golden hour again! Sometimes pulling over and grabbing your camera during decent light pays off... Shot at about 24mm at f2.8, I was able to get some good isolation on the first few blades of straw and really throw out the background to get a soft, dream like look.

Back before going into lockdown this year, we were able to book a stay on a cider farm not far from home here. While we were there for only a few days, we were greeted with some moody weather and some equally moody roosters each morning! This little guy was our alarm clock each morning and came to our door on the last day to say his goodbyes. A high contrast black and white helped to capture the mood of the day, and bring some style to our new farm friend.

Winter in Canada

This was after one of our first big snowfalls of the new year and a great time to get out and shoot! The cross country skiers making their way across the frame were just a bonus 🤙🏼🎿

First snow of 2021...

I remember waking up early in the new year to one of our biggest snow falls yet! I hiked out to the wooded area close to where I live to get a few shots while the snow was still undisturbed. This was taken at 400mm but still gives the appearance of a macro shot. Gotta love Sony’s 100-400!

The last photo of 2020...

This was the last photo I took to wrap up one of our wildest years ever. As I pointed my 100-400mm lens up to this nearly full moon on a cold New Year’s Eve, I was amazed to see how bright and clear it was! I was able to use autofocus to lock on and follow this speeding hunk of space rock as it sped across the sky. While it might now seem like it, the moon travels around the earth at 1.02 km/s. This means having a fast enough shutter speed to prevent any blur but also a low enough ISO to retain detail throughout the shot. A moon this big and bright seemed like a sign that there was a lot of good to come in 2021... So far I’d say we’re right on track 🤙🏼⚡️

Another beautifully still might in Northern Ontario...

This year was definitely a challenging one for travel. With restrictions and limitations, it pushed myself (like many) to explore some of the hidden gems that we rarely think of. Northern Ontario held more beauty than I could have imagined! This shot was at sunset in one of our more remote campgrounds on the trip. You can see the beautiful gradient as the light changed from golden to blue hour, and the still night that we were settling into. Shooting at 16mm and f2.8 allowed me to create some scale and take in the whole lake and it’s surroundings. One of my favourite shots from a summer in Northern Ontario!

Many times, the things you have around you are the most beautiful...

Being stuck at home for months on end cause you to reimagine your environment and seek out the beauty in it. Not being able to travel has made me focus more closely on the landscapes and features I have literally “In my own backyard.”

There’s beauty in the everyday... Sometimes you just need to search for it 🤙🏼⚡️

Memories of Oahu...

After almost 2 years since travelling to Hawaii, looking back on these photos are a reminder of sunshine and good times ☀️🤙🏼🌊

Hawaii has always had a special place in my heart and I was extremely thankful to show my Fiancé around an island that in many ways has felt like a second home.

This photo is of the Byodo-in Temple in eastern Oahu. (a replica of the 900-year-old Buddhist temple at Uji in Kyoto Prefecture of Japan) Even thought it’s a replica, the detail carved into the roof beams is still reminiscent of the 900 year version it’s meant to copy.
