Originally we were going to do this session outside… but Mother Nature had other plans for us. It was windy, dark and incredibly cloudy, so I said “let’s just bring it back to my house and see what happens.”

Honestly, I love these even more. LOOK AT THEM. Just laughing and smiling their way through the whole session.

Photos don’t always have to be perfectly posed and looking at the camera. Sometimes the magic is in the movement, in the mess, in doing your favourite things together. It can be painting together, laughing until your stomach hurts, cuddling in between moments, or simply just enjoying each other’s company.

By the end of this session Harper wanted to keep painting Mom, the walls, everything around her… and the belly laughs they shared were the sweetest thing ever.

And maybe that’s what motherhood really is. Not perfection. Not spotless walls or perfectly behaved moments. Just love being poured out in the most ordinary little moments — the kind your children will remember long after they’ve grown. We just KNOW she went to school the next day and told EVERYONE about this. 🥰
