Episode 34: the 2026 Santa Fe Hybrid.

This Typhoon Silver Ultimate Calligraphy comes with a 1.6 L 4-Cylinder Turbo paired to an electric motor and a 6-speed automatic transmission. It makes 231 horsepower and 271 lb-ft of torque. This is the only powertrain available in Canada for now but in the US you can get it in FWD, AWD, this Hybrid or a 2.5 L Turbo gas only version.

Asides from some of my personal opinions about the exterior design, once you’re inside you quickly forget about all of the H’s outside. The biggest highlight for me is how well laid out the interior is. Hyundai does a great job at blending the digital and physical controls. Everything that needs to be a button is a button.

It was an easy week living with it and I averaged around 7.6 / 100km (31 MPG).

Episode 32: the 2026 Honda CR-V TrailSport is up on the channel and here are a couple clips from the video.

After driving the CR-V Hybrid for one week it quickly became clear to me as to why this is such a popular vehicle. Everything just works, the interior is no fuss, it feels durable and it’s a vehicle you’ll never think about because it won’t annoy you in any way (asides from the 240p quality rear camera and the very loud reversing noise). Otherwise, it’s incredibly easy to live with and there’s tons of space for cargo.

As a TrailSport, it essentially gives you badging, some orange stitching inside, this Ash Green exterior colour, TrailSport floor mats and all-terrain tires. Nothing is different about the suspension or the ground clearance versus other 2026 CR-V Hybrids.

This week I got the chance to see the new 2027 Volvo EX60 in person. Here’s a quick snippet.

This is the electrified version of the Volvo XC60, Volvo’s top-selling vehicle, so it has some big shoes to fill. I also recently drove the 2026 XC60 B5 (full video on my YouTube channel), so it will be cool to compare the two and hopefully I will get the chance to try this out sometime this year.

This particular one is the P10 Ultra: a dual-motor, 95kWh battery setup making 503 horsepower with up to 514km of range. It is based on their new SPA3 800v platform and should charge from 10-80% in 18 minutes.

2.4 L Turbocharged 4-Cylinder Boxer Engine
• 260 horsepower
• 277 lb-ft torque
• Lineartronic CVT

Pros:
• Tons of cargo space (80.5 cubic ft / 2,280 litres)
• Smooth suspension. Great ride quality.
• Symmetrical AWD
• Modern but practical interior with physical controls
• The 2.4L turbo is peppy and has no problem moving

Cons:
• Fuel economy. I averaged around 11-12L / 100km (21-19MPG)
• Exterior design (but thats subjective)
• Headrests (no padding lol)
