17 days and counting (yes, I'm counting) until this perfect pair tie the knot!

I knew I wanted to take on capturing their special day after hearing their love story. They told me how their first date went. A beautiful hike in Medway Valley. Slow walks, no specific route, listening and learning about each other, the excitement of something new. That was their beginning, with a Timmys stop as a first shared meal.

For their engagement photos, we rewalked that trail with ice coffees in hand and enjoyed the worlds true love, nature. A family of deer even showed up to say hello.

Now that we're into April, Im reminiscing about the sweetest March engagement session (actually suprise proposal) that happened a year ago. Recently, I was asked to shoot their wedding next year, and I couldn't be more elated, honoured, sweaty. As I continue to deal with this imposter feeling, I think the best treatment will be to keep picking up my camera and taking more photos!

I believe March is an underrated month for photo sessions. The landscape and weather remind you to be grateful for the small things.

You know that feeling... When you're in Southwestern Ontario and the temps are frigid, the days are short, and winters are long. But on those odd sunny days, when you go outside and find the perfect sun pocket. It warms the soul.

Like this beautiful couple did on their sunny high noon winter engagement session!

I tried something different and shot with my aperture closed (f/8 f/11 f/14) to purposely get the full frame in focus to see if I could still make my subject prominent. An idea to bring nature and love into one. Nonetheless, whenever you try something different, you're bound to get different opinions. Embrace them.
