It’s been a few years since I’ve done a reintroduction, so let’s get to know each other! Here’s a few things about me:
️⃣ My horse, Chloe, has been my heart horse since she was a 6yo (she’s 26 now 🥹). When I saw her step off the trailer at the therapeutic riding facility I was working at, it was truly love at first sight! I always said that I’d take her at retirement even if she was 3-legged lame; years later she unfortunately became just that after a paddock injury, and her retirement came earlier than expected. Now, I’m so grateful to be by her side through her golden years of pasture puff life 🤍
️⃣ The first (and only) time I convinced my husband to ride, it was on a massive Belgian mare with a western saddle. I’m a dressage girlie at heart and had no business trying to tie a cinch for the first time, unassisted! Long story short the horse went left, he went right, and the saddle slipped. Both got away relatively unscathed, but for some reason I wasn’t ever able to convince him to ride again! 🤔
️⃣ I haven’t ridden consistently since Chloe retired from light riding in 2015. I miss it, but I’m so grateful to have had a few years of happy hacking her around after her rehab. I also love spending all my barn time just hanging out with her! Back when she was still at the therapeutic facility, we spent hours hanging out together in her field. I think that’s where my love of photography really blossomed, because it allowed me to spend so much time capturing the herd’s daily emotions. I’d love to get back into riding once her time comes, but I’m also not in any rush for that moment to arrive 🌈
️⃣ I’m an equine photographer based in Southwestern Ontario and I’m obsessed with framing the love and lives of horses and their people. I’d love to hear the story of your love affair with horses and provide you with memories for the rest of your life. I waited until my mare was 24 before finally getting some photos of us together. Don’t be like me 🙈 Let’s connect this year!
