Slipping through her fingers, quite literally. Toes already slightly bigger than they were a week ago. Tiny growth. Minuscule changes happening minute by minute. And a mama not wanting to miss a single second.

Every graduation is the cover of a very long, and often winding, story.

The photo might mark the ending, but it can never hold everything that came before it: the detours, the doubts, the unexpected chapters, and the quiet moments that changed you.

Because sometimes the story isn’t about who you were inside these walls. It’s about who you became because of them.

Tender moments at home. Because where else would you want to be with your people?

Those early days are meant to be slow. An in-home newborn session lets you stay in your own space, with everything you need close by. No packing bags, no rushing out the door. There’s time to feed, cuddle, and settle in as needed.

Your home is part of your story, too. The nursery you decorated, the couch where you’ve spent countless hours snuggling. All those the little details you’ll one day forget, they all help tell the story of this season.

That’s why I love in-home newborn photography. It’s relaxed, meaningful, and captures your family just as you are.

I think we put too much weight on quantity.

I always get asked, “How many images will I get during a mini session?”. And as much as I love to offer people quantifiable information, I don’t base my sessions on image amounts or deliverables. Some might call me a bad entrepreneur, that it’s a waste of time and not good business to provide unlimited photos.

A longer session gives us more room to wander, but a shorter one doesn’t make the story any smaller.

Every family brings a rhythm that’s entirely their own. My job is simply to step into it, pay attention, and photograph what’s already unfolding.

That’s true whether we’re together for fifteen minutes or two hours.

The images you receive tell your story and who am I to judge what that looks like.

A story doesn’t always need an hour.

Sometimes it lives in a few minutes. In a child who refuses to stand still. In the way someone reaches for your hand without thinking. In the quiet that happens after the laughter.

The best photographs have never been about time and have always been about connection.
