“...and what’s the key to success?”

My first Photoshop composite of the year! I haven’t had the time (or creative inspiration) to sit down and create something in a while, but then I had a little idea last week and decided to play around to see what could become of it. Photoshop has become a little happy place for me - it’s always so exciting to see where ideas can go!

The beautiful !

We created this image back in February (pre-covid days!!). This shoot included buying and inflating a kiddie pool, filling it with 10+ buckets of hot water, keeping the model warm enough during the entire multiple-hour shoot, and figuring out how to drain the pool after it was all done... Even though shoots like these are definitely more involved and challenging, I wouldn’t do it any other way!

“The Magic of a Good Book”

I have always loved sci-fi and dystopian novels, and anything that creates a different reality than the one we live in. I love the feeling of reading a book that’s so good you can’t put it down. I haven’t picked up a book in a very long time... but I finally did last week!

I wanted to create an image that illustrated that feeling of escaping into another world while reading a good book, and a pandemic seems like the perfect time to do just that!

Anyone who knows me knows I like to shoot in different (sometimes odd) locations, and this parking garage has been a favourite backdrop for many of my images over the past couple of years!

Ciara and I have a lot of fun when shooting together, especially when it involves quick changes in the car and blasting music in public. She always comes prepared with a laundry basket FULL of clothes and costumes and we have so much fun playing around with every item!
