After a few beautiful years as ALJ Photography, I’m stepping into the next chapter
ALJ photography is getting a new name!
“The Lens Between Us.”
where intuition meets storytelling through my lens. Whether it’s capturing horses, rodeo, families, or those raw, in-between moments that say everything words can’t, this next season is about connection and growth..both behind the camera and within myself. I’m now in the process of trying to officially license my business as a sole proprietorship and exploring workshops to strengthen my craft. Growth season has officially begun.
I want to say thank you to everyone who has supported me along this journey over the last few years, and I can’t wait for you to walk this next chapter with me. 🌿📸

She may hate me for this.. but I think it’s worth the risk.
Being able to capture pain, but see the beauty… that it truly something I cherish. Thank you universe for give me this gift.

The pain we feel when we lose something we love, the warm tears that rise,
the ache that carves itself into our chest…
is the most honest, unscripted part of being human.
That pain is love, remembering itself.
these photos ARE BY FAR the most heartbreakingly beautiful photos I personally think I’ve ever taken.. this is the embodiment of that love. ❤️

The final goodbye

Warrior…
30 years of love, lessons, and quiet strength.
He carried generations of family members upon his back.
Warrior only ever knew love.

Yesterday, I had the honor of photographing his last full day earthside.
It wasn’t about posing or perfection.. it was about presence. Being there to witness him, as he was.
To bear witness to, the final generation.. a little boy’s laughter, a mother’s tears, and the best horse, who carried it all with grace.

Every breath of light felt like a thank-you.
Every click of the shutter felt like a prayer.
Run free, Warrior. You were so loved. 🤍
And I am so grateful for the years I got to spend getting to know your sweet soul.

This one moment changed everything.
Not just for them.. but, for me too.

I’ve photographed a lot of love, but something about this one hit different. Maybe it was the dust.. perhaps the cheers.. or truly just the raw, shaking joy…
I didn’t pose it. I didn’t plan it. I just caught it.. and not even the whole moment!!! And, for a second, I remembered why I started this whole photography thing in the first place. It was a way for me to capture the pure love and passion I have for horses, which then lead me to the place that feels so deeply rooted in my veins… RODEO. And Rodeo gave us this beautiful moment ❤️

Love was in the air today during the Ram Rodeo finals in Ancaster ❤️
