There is nothing quite like the feeling of hitting “send” on a finished gallery, and today it was Marisa’s bo***ir session that went out into the world.

Marisa and I have known each other for many things, including heels, dance classes, and fantasy balls but this was the first time we had the chance to work together. She brought a confidence with her that I rarely see but also I'm sure a little bit of nerves for the first time working together as every photographer directs just a little bit differently. We had a wonderful day of chatting and laughing and just enjoying each other's company.

Bo***ir is never just about the photos. It is about honouring your body, your story, and this version of you right now. It is permission to take up space, to feel powerful, soft, bold, or anything in between.

Seeing Marisa’s reaction to her images reminded me why I love this work so deeply.

Beyond excited to start sharing out some of the images this beautiful soul and I created together.

Kristen reached out to me about collabing on her Album Cover for her upcoming single and I couldn't be more excited for this. Kristen is not only a good friend, but a talented singer, songwriter and actress.

Her new single drops tomorrow (make sure you are following her on Spotify or Apple Music to catch it as soon as it drops) and I can't wait to celebrate this with here.

Sneak peek time ✨ This weekend I had the absolute joy of welcoming Marisa into the studio for a mini glam session with the incredible , followed by some playful, empowering time in front of the camera.

We had a fun afternoon of creating and collaborating. Of being in her body, playing with angles, expressions, and more🖤

Earlier this week I met with these two beautiful souls to show them what we created together at their engagement session.

It was a wonderful afternoon sharing memories, chatting, and planning for their fall wedding day.

One thing I love about these in person reveals - you get to experience your images outside of distractions, if you are looking at product you get to see them/touch them/plan them together, and you know more of what to expect come your wedding day.

But I will be honest, I get something from it too. I get to see you see your images for the first time, I get to learn what kinds of images of yourself you love most (and don't), and I can personalize your wedding day photos even more.

Just one more little slice of what I love in this work!

Over the last few years I have made a big push to switch a lot of my products to Canadian suppliers wherever possible to support Canadian, to support local, and to cut down on some of the transition time as well as costs for my clients.

When I had the opportunity to use these fantastic new suppliers for this order for a past couple of months, I was beyond excited.

Getting to present this new album with:
- a beautiful black leather cover
- custom engraved name and date on the album itself
- custom gilded edges that make me think of sprayed edges on my favourite novels but this time featuring their rings
- a custom album box engraved again with their names and dates

I was beyond thrilled.

Needless to say my clients loved it too.

Can't wait for even more client orders to arrive from these fabulous people.

There's this beautiful woman who's come into my life over the last year and I am so fricken proud of her.

I'm proud of her for the decision she's made and she hasn't even stepped in front of the camera yet.

She was curious so she asked questions.

She felt seen in something I posted so we started a conversation.

She was brave so she told me what was on her mind.

She was nervous so she asked a friend for her opinion.

She was already in her becoming...celebrating her anniversary how she wished they had celebrated their wedding day, returning to school to follow a calling, connecting to new communities that cheered on her biggest dreams )and where she felt safe to be vulnerable to share them), putting her well-being and joy at the top of the list for once.

She wasn't ready.

She didn't need this.

She didn't earn it by hitting some bar that someone else set.

She just decided.

And I can't wait to share more about her this winter when she steps in front of the camera.

For now we plan and dream and sink into everything this moment already is because it's her moment.

Let's get real for a minute and talk about what I'm actually trying to capture in a bo***ir shoot (and I promise you it's not what you think).

There's this assumption that when we are talking about a bo***ir session we are talking about beautiful bodies captured in sexy or alluring ways but it's about so much more than that for me.

It's not just about the body - perfect or otherwise.
It's about what I see when you take a moment to just exhale and exist. It's about the soul, energy, the confidence, the femininity, and how you show up as you.

Lets be clear - It's okay to be brave and try something new to see how it feels BUT this is not an experience about being someone you aren't or doing something that makes you feel genuinely uncomfortable, embarrassed, or in any way unsafe.

It's about slowing things down, taking a breath, and being in our own bodies.

It's about using my camera as a tool to reflecting back to you who you are when you feel safe to be genuine, to be vulnerable, and to just be you. No more hiding, no performing, just being seen.

What I'm really capturing is the sparkle in your eye, the exhale, the way you move, the reconnection to your own body, and you taking a moment to just be you because that is already enough.
