Kara Brown Photography Pet photography is my passion! In the time I have been dabbling with photography I have quickly learned that my passion is animals ~ specifically family pets.

Being able to capture the unique personality, characteristics and beauty of a pet provides me with joy! I have been fortunate to capture special moments with many cats, dogs and horses too. In addition, I have met many incredible people ~ each with a special story to share. My goal is to provide you with beautiful images of your pet(s) whether its in the comfort of your own home, a park or even at

a barn! Cost: Donation to Animal Rescue/Shelter

How can I charge $0 for my own time, travel cost, etc? It's my way of giving back to my community. I am always learning, adapting, and growing as a photographer. I do have a request. In lieu of paying for my services, I ask that you make either a monetary or wish list donation to an animal rescue or animal shelter of your choice. This may be something as simple as $20-$30 or perhaps cat/dog food, treats, toys, laundry soap, office supplies, etc. You would be amazed at what is needed in order to sustain. To me this is win-win.

I want to reiterate how incredibly important it is to support local rescues. Today my daughter and I were at Pet Valu Sarnia located on Lakeshore Rd. There were 2 kittens for adoption $175 each which included - vet appointment, deworming, spay/neutering, microchipping and vaccinations. The rescue also reiterated kittens were to be adopted in pairs which I 1000% agree with. So $350 for 2 healthy babes. Thats amazing because let me remind you that itty bitty Evie has cost me close to $700 and she hasn't been spayed.
Don't get me wrong....no regrets because she would have been squished on the highway, frozen or eaten. The point is .... rescues are incredible. Period.

Im grateful that I found Evie because I know her life would have potentially been cut short.
But I am so aware and need to amplify how incredible it is to support local rescues. She has been to TWO vet appointments - cost $600+ (vaccination, ear mites, flea, normal vet cost, testing for fiv, dewormed etc) AND she hasn't been spayed yet!!! I have zero qualms on my vet appointments - my point - dont criticize a $200 or $300+ adoption fee when it should be obvious from my post that you are saving ALOT
Again, Evie hasn't even been spayed yet. PLEASE dont complain.

I own 12 beautiful portraits by Whiteworks Portraits. I couldn't be happier. This is a fabulous way to support local, support a local artisan, and have an original piece of art!

With great sadness, the Jane Goodall Institute confirmed this morning the passing of the organization’s founder, Dr. Jane Goodall, age 91 who died peacefully in her sleep while in Los Angeles, CA for her speaking tour in the United States.

Dr. Goodall’s life and work not only made an indelible mark on our understanding of chimpanzees and other species, but also of humankind and the environments we all share. She inspired curiosity, hope and compassion in countless people around the world, and paved the way for many others — particularly young people who gave her hope for the future.

In 1960 Dr. Goodall established the longest running wild chimpanzee study in Gombe National Park, Tanzania which continues to this day. She pioneered and sustained the Jane Goodall Institute’s community-centered conservation initiatives across the chimpanzee range for over four decades. Her legacy includes the creation of JGI’s international environmental and humanitarian youth program Roots & Shoots, which is actively driving change in 75 countries and counting around the world.

The Jane Goodall Institute is incredibly grateful to all our supporters, partners, and friends, especially during this difficult time. To add a personal remembrance of Dr. Goodall and continue her legacy for future generations, please visit JaneGoodall.org/RememberingJane
