The Mastad family 💛

Summer came and went, and I forgot to post. So we’ll start with this stunning family. I’ll never get over how lucky I am to have the opportunity to shoot photos of people and their lives for a living. It means a whole hell of a lot to me. This one was extra special, being that it was also in one of my favorite corners of Saskatchewan. With the loveliest folks was the cherry on top.

I know so many damn talented musicians and is one of ‘em. This girl is writing songs, playing gigs and chasing down her dreams of making music. I sure admire that.

I enjoyed the hell out of this evening spent taking photographs for her promotional materials. As luck would have it, I’ll be shooting her wedding this summer too, and I’m very excited about that fact.

Smiled and giggled the entire time I shot this session… and then again when I edited it. These kids melt my dang heart.

This was my second time photographing the adorable Lewis family, and we always have a hoot. I really tried to capture the emotions and playfulness of childhood, and I think these photographs epitomize just that.

Golly, this was a blast to shoot! Visuals shot for to illustrate the feel behind the fragrance Crimson Sky. Morriah gives me the general direction and the reins, and I go to town. Love seeing these projects come to life.

This family/maternity session from last fall was heavenly. Kelly, Mike & Indie — the sweetest family ever!!!! 💛 I met Kelly a few years ago, at a photoshoot I was doing for the business she works for. Soooooo grateful she thought of me for family photos. The people I get to know through this business is, WITHOUT A DOUBT, my favourite part of it all.

Never a dull moment. I adore these people with my whole damn heart. They’re worth their weight in gold, and then some.

I worked on so many memorable projects this past year and have shared next to none. I hope to do a little more of that in the next bit, starting with this one.

I am tremendously grateful to Jan & Erin Johnson for booking me to photograph this momentous project: the cover and feature of the farewell issue of magazine.

They were kind enough to send me a copy of the magazine and a note. A particular line stuck out to me: “our dream was to feel good about ourselves on the cover, and our images have far exceeded that.” This is the motivation behind what I do, and all I could hope to hear when handing off a gallery.

I believe they have just a few copies left - I highly encourage you to check out this inspiring publication. As well, they have new endeavors on the horizon, so give ‘em a follow!

Was lucky enough to get to shoot these two sweethearts in a place that is very dear to me, with the sun comin’ up, to boot. Transcendent, I tell ya!!!
