It’s always privilege to be able to document families over the years, especially when they are as beautiful and kind as E & A’s. You get to see how the children grow and the way their parents love them in all their stages 💚 it also serves as a reminder of how quickly these years fly by, and how special it is to take a evening to create keepsakes to remember these fleeting moments.

My best friend in the literal world is getting married (imported from France haha)!! 💚 😭 Fun fact: Mo and Andy met and became friends when we were in high school, except she was my exchange student from France. Years and heartbreaks later, Mo was busy working away on becoming a Canadian when she and Andy began spending time together. One dog, a lot of hard work and paperwork, and a long time later, these two are taking the leap next May 🥰

So I hate self-portraits, but I have wanted to take photos in front of this gate with the lilacs for YEARS. After days on days of rain, we had an evening where the sun was coming through the worn blooms just the way I love. I figured it wouldn’t hurt to capture my 25 week bump considering I really, really wanted some sort of portraits with these dang lilacs before they were gone again. A special thank you to my dear mother for watching my toddler for 20 minutes for me to run outside with my tripod 😂 I brushed out my natural waves, stuck with the make up I had from teaching earlier in the day, and threw on a dress I’ve been saving for my actual maternity portraits in the summer. Fingers crossed that I can book some sessions in this tiny but beautiful spot with folks in the future 😆 I’d much rather be behind the camera instead of in front.

It’s that time of the year again 🌼 I’m looking forward to doing my own little session with my son next weekend AND an engagement session for my beautiful best friend, who modelled for me in the flowers a few years back.

I have no complaints that I’ve had a lot more family sessions this year 😄 especially when it comes to this session. I’ve been fortunate enough to photograph these wonderful folks for their engagement, marriage, pregnancy, and now as a beautiful family!

On a crisp September afternoon, these two honoured their love by exchanging roses and rings. Both of them are incredibly creative individuals. These two and their wonderful doggo were naturals in front of the camera no matter how silly the prompts were that I gave them. Plus, Aspen, their dog, definitely stole the show a few times during this mini session on our property.
I can’t believe already November! I’m going to miss the beautiful fall colours.

We managed to time this session perfectly—it’s starting pouring rain right after we finished up 🌻 🌻 and a sunflower field makes a perfect backdrop for these two!

On a less sunny note, I’m home again with a sick toddler. This fall has been beautiful, but it’s been one of the most exhausting that I can recall. We have so many big projects on the farm to get done in the next month, my kid has been sick almost every week (same with my husband), and most nights I’ve had very minimal sleep before going to work to teach. 😅 But I am sooooo grateful for all the sunshine moments between the craziness. ☺️ and I’m very excited to see how all our hard work this year pays off come next year.

It’s crazy how time slows down while simultaneously speeding up when you become a parent. Those first months are full of long days and nights of repeating routine, but that quickly changes to days full of milestone achievements and constant growth. By the time your little one becomes a toddler, you’re left wondering where the days have gone!
