Let’s kick this one off with some medium format film, shall we?

The first of a *few* posts from Mary & Cole’s perfect day in September, captured on digital and lots of film ^

I’ll take a beautiful seaside, tented wedding with champagne and bright florals and a couple as in love as they are annnnnny day.

P.S. Thanks for responding to the polls on my stories! Shall I keep this going with getting your input before each post so you pick what you see??

The real wedding may be in Ireland later this year, but you might as well turn the Canadian legal ceremony into a whole thing too!!

One of my theories on life is to celebrate alllll that we can. And if your wedding ends up being in two parts, I think you should absolutely celebrate both.

This legal ceremony turned intimate wedding on the beach in Nova Scotia on a misting, foggy day was the perfect way to do it, if you ask me.

See you across the pond in June, Johna and Nick!!!

Starting the 2025 full wedding share with this tented affair in Quebec on a very [unexpectedly] rainy Saturday.

Plans had to change. The outdoor ceremony was scrapped, the vision for our portrait session was turned on its head, the cocktail hour was moved to the neighbour’s greenhouse next door and we didn’t get the golden hour shots we wanted, but it allowed for so much more appreciation of what we were actually there to do: get these two married.

When you wipe some of that stuff away, what you get left with is an undeniable understanding of what’s important. So the ceremony was moved to the barn. Instead of sunset we did some moody night shots. And Sarah and Andrew bravely stepped out in the pouring rain right after their ceremony to get some photos outside anyway. I have ~never~ seen a bride so down to drop her umbrella and let her hair and makeup be washed away than Sarah, and I probably never will again.

Regardless of plans getting changed, their day was perfect. There were games, wild dancing, stunning decor, and the union of two people so truly in love.

Ilovemyjob.

And don’t worry, the pouring rain portraits are arriving on the feed soon. Stay tuned.

Kicking off the full share of 2025 with this perfect (but very cold) NS beach engagement session!

These two were so trusting with me. Though it was their first shoot ever and they were so nervous about not knowing what to do in front of the camera, I just explained that it’s not your job to know what to do, it’s MY job to make you relax, to direct you, and get you to have fun. And THIS is what resulted. Classic example of what “we’re so awkward in front of the camera!” can look like (if you book me 😉)

Check my story for their reaction!

A collection of getting ready moments, in black and white, across different weddings.

The morning anticipation.

From choosing your jewelry with mom, throwing on earrings before heading out the door, to making sure the dress is laying perfectly and showing it off to your friends.

I love these moments.

Hey folks, it’s been a while!

My wedding season kicked off in March, picked up in June, and between weddings and travel and travel for weddings this summer, it has been nonnnstoppp. So, sorry for my absence on here! I’ve been very present elsewhere.

I’ve also fully accepted this summer that I can’t do everything on my own. After losing two valuable helpers in the midst of busy season and trying to keep up with everything on my own, I realized I need more help than ever to keep this business flourishing in the way that I want it to.

So, I’m adding more people to my team to focus my attention in the places it’s needed most, and to keep this business on the path of growth it’s been on, and more. Speaking of, if you want to be on my team in any way, reach out via email at [email protected]!

I’m so excited to get into sharing photos from this season and keep you updated with all of the MTP lab’s freshest output 😉

Keep those eyes peeled and those save buttons hit.

Happy to be back.

That which paints the picture of the feel of your day. What your guests saw and experienced. The little things that wowed them. Like each cutting a mini cake along side you. Leaving a tipsy message of marriage advice. Watercolour portraits of themselves all dressed up. The program printed as a magazine. The candles. The church.

A necessary portion of your gallery that leaves you remembering even more what the room felt like.

Never done posting my best friends.

P.S. The unexpected art form of curating Instagram posts now?!?! Who saw it coming?? It takes me so long to find the right combinations for each swipe but it’s so fun getting artistic in this unexpected way (exactly like album curation and I love it).

Sometimes your plan to elope in Ireland just doesn’t work out, so you end up having the big family wedding in LA instead.

I was so thrilled that even when our Ireland plans came to a halt, Toni and Jesus still asked me to come down and shoot their wedding at home. Answer: Umm, obviously!

Nate and I and 7-month-old Daisy got to explore LA for the weekend and I got to document the stunningly beautiful and perfectly special union of these two lovebirds, Toni and Jesus.

The First Congregational Church of Los Angeles was the most beautiful church I’ve ever seen (this post was insanely hard because I have SO much I need to share). The chapel lighting brought the drama and awe for their ceremony, and the courtyard was perfectly decked out for the reception. AND their reception included EVERYTHING, from fire dancers and a magician to a group cake cutting where each guest got their own mini cake to match the newlyweds…. It was truly unbelievable.

Toni and Jesus, congratulations on your beautiful union and unforgettable wedding. Though it wasn’t the intimate Ireland plan we talked about, you made it a night no one in attendance will ever forget, least of all you two. Thanks for having me 🤍

SO MUCH MORE TO COME (and yeah, the last one is my favourite).
