Getting ready in the morning used to feel like another task on a long list.

Now I treat it a little differently.

It’s a moment to slow down.
Take care of the body that carries me through everything.

After photographing so many women, I’ve realized how rarely we let ourselves experience our bodies with kindness instead of critique.

Small rituals change that more than people realize.

The morning of a bo***ir session starts with you NOT RUSHING in and immediately stepping in front of a camera.

The day actually begins with professional hair and makeup.

You get to sit, relax, sip something warm, munch, and slowly settle into the experience while a talented artist takes care of the details.

This part matters more than people realize.

Because when women are taken care of, they begin to soften.

The nervous system slows down.

The shoulders drop.

And by the time we begin the photoshoot, you’re no longer trying to “look good.”

You’re simply present.

This session with Alicia was something special.

We went in with a simple intention: have fun, show off her truck, sneak in a few bestie images and create images that actually feel like her. What unfolded was so much more than that.

Through a few beautiful connections, we were welcomed into one of the Pitt Meadows airport hangers and given space to create with MF PLANES in the background!!! Talk bucket list! Obviously an environment I’d never photographed in before. The experience itself was incredible. Open. Welcoming. Expansive. And it added a layer to the images that you can feel, not just see.

What I love most about these photos is how clearly Alicia’s energy comes through. Her style. Her confidence. Her edge. You don’t have to know her to understand who she is, the images tell that story on their own.

Sessions like this remind me why I love what I do. How easily my work can move between worlds. How an environment, a passion, or a personal element can be woven into a shoot and still hold that same reverence for showcasing women in their power.

This wasn’t about fitting into a box. It was about letting the moment, the setting, and her presence lead.

That’s where the magic lives.

This is what happens when trust meets creativity.

This session was designed with longevity and intention in mind.

We created a wide variety of images that allow Sarah to move through seasons, offerings, and platforms with ease, while staying cohesive in tone, energy, and visual language. Nothing random. Nothing disjointed. Just range that still feels like her.

As a painter and a woman who works closely with mothers who have experienced infant loss, it was important that her images felt grounded, reverent, and emotionally safe. Soft without being fragile. Powerful without being loud. Aesthetic that could hold both creativity and grief with care.

What I loved most about this session is how seamlessly her brand and my work overlapped. An image that supports her messaging can also live comfortably in something more expressive, even something like a snow-queen-in-winter moment, showing how beauty, environment, and emotion can coexist without feeling forced.

Her gallery was delivered this week, and it was an honor to collaborate in a way that honored not only her work, but the women she serves.

This is what intentional branding looks like: flexible, cohesive, and deeply human.

Branding doesn’t have to be one-dimensional.
Branding doesn’t have to feel forced.

Your work deserves images that can grow with it.

The women who book bo***ir sessions are rarely the women who “have it all together.”

They’re the women who feel a pull toward something different.

Toward reconnecting with their body.
Toward reclaiming their presence.
Toward seeing themselves in a new light.

And often they tell me the same thing afterward:

“I’m so glad I didn’t talk myself out of it.”

There’s always a moment during the session where something shifts.

It usually happens about halfway through.

The overthinking stops.

You stop asking if something looks okay.

You start laughing more.

Moving differently.

Taking up space in a way that feels natural.

That’s the moment when women stop performing for the camera and start inhabiting themselves.

And those are always the photographs that end up being their favorites.
