This session is one of the last I did with my beautiful girl, Riley Rose, before her passing. We joked that she looked spooky — almost witchy — and we had so much fun bringing that little idea to life.

Since we couldn’t do our usual Halloween session this year, I wanted to share these photos in honor of my baby girl. My treasure. My heart.

There truly are no words to describe the pain of this loss. Every day feels like climbing a mountain with no clear end in sight. I’m trying my best, but some days are harder than others.

Photography has always been my passion — my safe place — and while I’m not quite ready to return fully yet, I know I will find my way back when the time is right.

Arissa and I set out to capture the perfect golden sunset… but fate had other plans. Held up at the park gate, the clouds rolled in and completely transformed the scene. The wind picked up, the waves came alive, and suddenly our soft golden hour turned into something moody, dramatic, and irresistibly powerful.

The past while has been a season of deep reflection—grieving the loss of a loved one, caring for family, and reconnecting with my own well-being. Stepping away was necessary… but my heart never left the art.

Now, I’m feeling aligned and so ready to pour energy into capturing beauty, emotion, and a little magic again.

I recently had this magical, ethereal session in the woods with my daughter—our own little fairyland tucked away by the creek. The sunlight danced through the trees, the water shimmered, and the whole scene felt like it came straight out of a storybook.

Taking a few days to step away and be with family as we mourn the loss of my father-in-law. This time is sacred for grieving, remembering, and holding close the people we love most.
