The year was 2014. Our friend played in a band around Saskatoon that needed images for gig posters and reached out to see if we'd be willing to give it a shot. Sure, Longshot, we'll give it a shot.

The boys were open to all kinds of locations, and having had photos made of themselves before, were hugely helpful figuring out positioning, posing, and perfect pouts.

They still gig, and always work hard to ensure their listeners have a great time.

So pleased Salt of the Earth earned a bronze score in this round of The Portrait Masters accreditation submissions.

I wanted this to convey hard work in an intentionally fine art way, because I think hard work often flies under the radar when thinking about beautiful things. There’s a certain kind of poetry in the people who do the work to keep our systems/communities/worlds moving, often without complaint. They just do. I feel like that deserves some recognition and thanks.
