My textile creations are almost exclusively made with recycled, found or donated fabrics of which my favourites are denim jeans and men's ties. Many of my art quilts are displayed on my Flickr account in the Fibre Art tab. My drone now resides in the Ukraine so no longer in my service. My latest interest - embellishing jean jackets. I had intended to do hand sashiko stitching but my jean pocket & clothing label collection called me first. I love the result. Now I need to buy another spool of the denim orange thread in order to continue. This jacket, bucket hats & pickle ball paddle covers are just a few of my offerings. Another project that was made with my love of all things denim. Thinking to make another one, taking advantage of more of the parts of the jeans I cut up. Stay tuned but don't hold your breath as just disassembling the jeans & then the cutting the strips takes time. Then to contemplate & play around with the distribution of the various denim colour tones. At that point I supposedly know what I'm doing and it's all sewing. Of course it rarely turns out that way so add a few more hours before the finished shawl is done. Can you tell I love denim.

My energy levels are slowly returning so am playing with more fabric. Notta Brown Betty was destined for a juried show here in Merrickville with a theme of - you guessed it - teapots. But then I re-read the 'invite' to learn that it had to be 12x12" so didn't submit it. Trees Please was destined to become the front of a cover for one of my machines. embellished to showcase what the machine does. Somehow it became a standalone.So I had to do another front for the Babylock Embellisher. Just finished today and I'm delighted that I have made something for ME.

Teapots! Thanks to inspiration from Monsky Gallery in Merrickville, I created "Notta Brown Betty". Unfortunately it's too large (18" x 15") to submit for the exhibit. It was fun to play around with some of my chenille (stitch n' slash) experiments and to test out vegan leather fabric.
